Looking for a class A silkied serama rooster. Have a project breeding pen I would like to use him in. Must beable to ship with heat packs to NY, pending better temps. Thanks

Fun fact!
CHANGE TO TRADITIONAL SERAMA WEIGHT STANDARD
By unanimous vote the governing council (SCNA) voted to remove the verbiage of Classes A B C and add the top weights of
16oz for cocks (C),
14oz for hens (H),
14oz for cockerels (K),
12oz for pullets (P),
with a 20% variance over these weights, which would be
19.2oz for cocks (C),
16.2oz for hens (H),
16.2oz for cockerels (K)
14.4oz for pullets (P).
Bottom weights for these classes have been eliminated.
These weights mirror the ABA's weight standard for the American Serama.
Technically birds entered in Table Top competition which exceed these weights may be disqualified.

I want to cross a Silkie serama with Silkie hens to slowly over time make mini silkies. A girl a know is doing it with great success. I just would like a small rooster cause I have some already small Silkie hens.

Perhaps it would be easier for you to purchase a cockerel that she has already started towards this goal? It would save you a lot of steps. We who breed silkied aren't generally trying to breed for the tiny ones. In the grand scheme of things, they aren't as good for breeding purposes than their medium sized counterparts.

Yes I did read that the smaller have fertility issues. I wanted to start from scratch to develop my own line. What is the weight of a medium bird? I was looking for something around 15 ounces. Found a nice boy at 20 ounces but was hoping for a bit smaller.

I don't know. I just breed to the standard. Serama don't breed true. So a tiny little rooster could breed large birds-it's a total crap shoot. I'm breeding for type within the breed standard so itty bitty birds aren't really my objective :)
