wanting to get into rasing my own chickes

looking to get into raise a few chickens with my kids this year have no idea how to go about it any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Your best option (besides reading all you can here) would be to visit someone near you who is also raising chickens. A farm perhaps?
Check CraigsList to see anyone selling baby chicks in your area. They'll usually have some good advice and will let you know where the local feed stores are.
Start reading the Raising Baby Chicks thread and also read the "Notable Topic Index" sticky there.
Not sure where you live, but in this Where Am I thread, there's a thread for the State you live in.
It would be a good idea to read and post a question there, too.
And then enjoy the fun of raising chickens!!
