I have a light Brahma Rooster that I'm going to be butchering soon. I've seen different threads on here mention that you can sometimes save the pelt and sell it to fly fisherman for tying flies. Does anyone know if there is like a youtube video that shows how to skin the bird to save the feathers and how to treat the pelt? I've searched and searched and found some on skinning chickens but the methods used I would be worried about messing up the feathers. Also does anyone know what the going rate for a pelt is? Thanks everyone!

Did you try a search here on the forum? I know there are a couple guys who do this here, read some pretty extensive threads at one time...maybe find one who posts a lot and message them if you can't find specifics.

Thank you. I had tried doing some searches but not an advanced search the way you did. That was a lot more useful.

Indeed, took me awhile to learn that one, it works very well...the main search function is almost useless.
