wanting to try guinea

at about 2-3 months is when my guinea hens begin to do the "buckwheat" call. The males carry themselves different as well. They hold their wings up high and dont allow their rumps to show. Wattle size wont help because I have a few females with bigger wattles then the males. Though males do happen to grow theirs earlier. Also males typically have larger helmets.

two females. Notice how their wings dont cover their rump feathers but allow them to show.

this pied lavender is a male. He is doing the typical show off stance.

Good Luck!

I'm so excited to try them. The hatchery will not have them til Spring. That gives me plenty o time to research and learn as much as I can about them. I'm thinking royal purple is my favorite look.
