Wanting to use ornamental grass for shade.

Not sure if this is the place to ask but thank y'all for any help! I'd like to give my hens some shade using ornamental grass but I'm not sure what types of grasses they won't eventually eat. Can anyone tell me if chickens eat Miscanthus Sinensis Adagio grass? It's also called Dwarf Maiden Grass.

Not sure if they will eat it, but it stays small. I have Zebra grass near my coop. Mine leave it alone except to scratch around. It gets large fairly quickly and is considered non invasive. http://www.leggspeafowl.com/landscape_beautification.htm
I think this may be useful in some way.
The Zebra grass is on the right next to the bottom row and in the row above it third pic from the left.
It is striped and mine gets to about 8 foot tall.

Have you seen little bluestem grass? It is pretty, IMHO and it blooms.
