I never ordered chicks through the mail. Was just wondering how they keep the littlest ones warm in their traveles when it's cold out?

Why there in a minimum number you can order. They keep one another warm. Some put heat packs in with them too for extra fee.

I just ordered 10 Black Sumatra chicks from Ideal Poultry. They were shipped from Cameron texas Wednsday and I got A call from my post office in Fl the next day at 7:30 am saying they were here. They threw in another 13 Buff Cochins to help with warmth for free.

That's what they said. I read that it takes 3-4 weeks to properly sex Buff Cochins so how do they know at such A young age ? Of course they know A whole lot more about this than me .

Oh no, I just got my girls on the 11th and there was 1 extra....I live in the city and am terrified enough that when the girls get older the noise will make someone complain, but a roo???? Oh NOOOOO!!!! I will have to find him a nice home...what a shame :(.....Tho perhaps hubby and I will find the land we are looking for soon and we can start setting up our lil "farm" sooner than later! Prayers, please!!!!

When my 15 arrived they were in a tiny box, with a tight straw on bottom and a kind of Styrofoam packed around them, they were huddled tight together my hubby said-so tight that he wondered if the ones on the bottom were dead....but they were all alive and well
