Warm climate coop

Your enclosure is CUTE! Our climate is tropical (warm, wet & humid), I wanted something easy to clean & airy....This is what Hubby came up with - 8x12x7, wrapped in wire, shower curtains on rods (rain/wind), huge dog house for nest box & basically DLM/shavings on the ground ... Not so cute but functional & works well for us, 4 BOs

Yours is cute, too! I love the green, my favorite color! I'm not a great builder, but I like to paint and had a bunch of house paint left over in fun colors. Since the coop and doors were made from old junk, it needed sprucing up.

Chicken toys!

Now working on a community nest barrel.

The nest barrel is in place. Hope they like it! They've been peeking through the door, but I haven't seen anyone go in yet. For a egg access door, I used a little, old window that I got off an abandoned rabbit hutch for which it had been repurposed from who knows what. The inside of this brewery barrel has a lovely, mild scent from the wine and beer that had been aged in it combined with the added aspen shavings. The cork hole is on the bottom of the barrel and covered in wire mesh. That will provide drainage should it get wet inside or need to be rinsed out.
