I'm wondering if it's warm enough for the girls to go outside in the coop fulltime? Temps are supposed to be in the upper 30's the next week at night. Tthe 2 older ones are about 2 months old or so, fully feathered. Rosie is a little bit younger, 6 weeks, feathered mostly, except her head

They've been out in the portable run a few times on the warmer days. I could put them out in it all day when we're at work and bring them in for the night, but I leave early and it's still cold. I'd like to put them out without a heat source, so should I wait a few more weeks or??? I was hoping it would be warmer by now, but usually in May we get out of the 30's-40's....

I forgot to add it's been pretty windy too, so add some windchill...

Ours were born in the goat side of the coop, broody hen hatched them outm,....we put heat lamps over a brooder, which we set up next to the goats loft and moved them in. T hey have been out with their mom pecking the ground during the day as well,..about a week old now. By the way all my husbands doing, I would be too paranoid, but so far no problems at all.
Oh and I am in massachusetts so still nippy at night

I'd say no. Only because you will not be there and as you say, the mornings are chilly and windy. Give it a few more days/weeks and everything will be fine.

And, get some poker cards for the chicks to play with while indoors

well, ur from a different place than i am. but my 2 week olds use to spend about an hour a day outside when they were 1 week old...then i steadily increased it. yesterday, they spent half the day outside......then i brought them in at night. today they spent all day outside and i've just now closed up their small hen house for the night. (the hen house is only 12 square feet) they peeped a lot for about 10 minutes, then they settled down. also, they've been sleeping without a heat lamp for the past couple nights (in the house)......temps here are in the lower 60's at night now. upper 70's to lower 80's during the day. they LOVE it outside! they were taking some serious dirt baths today! i have 9 chicks now, but in a couple weeks i will be giving away 5 of them to a friend of mine.

It was snowing heard the first week I had them home (on spring break!) and way to cold to go out. I turned off the heat lamp about 1 week ago, 60-ish/70 daytime, 60 at night, and they're fine. They were out today about 5 hours and had a blast, conked out as soon as I brought them in. Forecast is snow/rain Tues. night, so I'll wait for another week or two I guess....
