WARNING: GRAPHIC PHOTOS Injured rooster… should I put him down?

His comb has changed colors since the last time I checked on him. It is usually vibrant and red but is really dark purple now. What could this mean? These photos are 2 hours after cleansing the wound and applying ointment.
When my roosters comb does that, he's having circulation issues. I suspect in your rooster's case, it's because of stress. Not sure I'd worry about it - it will turn red again when he's feeling better and blood circulation improves.

Here a some updated photos.

He is doing great and is very thankful that he wasn’t accidentally put down 😅 I’m so glad I asked. I transferred him to an area where he has room to forage and recover in peace.
Poor guy!
He did get plucked didn't he.
He's probably sore but I think if you tend to him daily, he should heal up o.k.

Keep your ointment on the wounds to help keep them from drying out, if he's in the sun, you may need to provide him with some shade too.

Probably just bruising. I agree with other posts that he will heal. He looks pretty healthy.
