**Warning*** yucky graphic pics! Good news! Update on Page 11!!!!!!

pips&peeps :

You should get him swabbed and send the sample to an avian lab, either way it's not good.

At this point I think you should get a professional diiagnosis before you do anything rash. I think this is best,

Then see where you are at.

Just curiose. Does the inside of his beak have scabs on it?

Poor guy. I have no idea what is wrong with him but i'm so sorry you are going through this!!!!!

I did not open his beak. Tomorrow when i give him his shot I will look...why?

I just went back and looked at the pictures and persoonally(IMO) if he is not better in a few days I would cull him. No use in making him suffer. Reading this thread Coryza was the first thing that popped in my mind when you said bubbly eyes, but a professional opinion is needed.

In the long run you could save a lot of suffering if/when your other birds get sick by finding out what it is for sure.. And worst case scenario--cull flock;; You will get over it eventually and go on. Sorry to hear of your troubles.

You dont really...and the ppl may not even know it... it is why many prefer to hatch rather than buy birds frrom other (unknown) breeders and if you go to an auction or such where they sell poultry or let someone else that has poultry on your property it can be spread that way too...
So you can cull and disinfect and start over but even that is no guarantee that the exact same problem will not crop up again. It remains a reality with backyard flocks and one that is impossible to totally protect against.

That's EXACTLY why I deal only with eggs, no live birds enter my farm anymore. You live and learn, and something like Coryza, you never forget or want to deal with again.

It was just something one of my roos had that he had caught from my pigeons and needed to be treated differently. But I dont think your roo has that. And my roo didnt have the eyes like that, I would definetely get a professional opinion.

Geeze I am sooo sorry. The only thing I can think to say is that I would collect whatever eggs you get over the next few days and save them for yourself b/c you don't know what might be coming. Also, make sure in your research that whatever it is can't be passed on in an egg. That is just awful
