~Warriors RP II~

Come in." Maplestar's voice was emotionless and eerily calm, almost as if she was masking fury.
(Oh crud.)

Oh no... Shadowpelt thought sadly, but pushed aside his fears and padded in. "Yes, Maplestar?

Maplestar's burning eyes shut, and she exhaled with a woosh, before refixing her hard gaze. "Shadowpelt... I allowed you to keep seeing Silverstream because I thought that your loyalty was deeper than that. I thought that you were strong enough to look past her and remember that your loyalty to your Clan came first with no exceptions should the time ever arise." She shook her head to herself, smirking emptily. "I guess I was wrong." Her smirk fading, she looked back up at Shadowpelt. "And now I hear from several cats that you sacrificed the safety, and now, probably life, of a Clanmate, for Silverstream. A cat from another Clan. I'm so disappointed in you. I wanted to test your loyalty; that's why I put you in that patrol." As she looked at him, her gaze grew darker, and her heart even more so. "What do you have to say for yourself?"
Her words stung Shadowpelt's heart like a million knives slicing through it. He closed his yellow eyes while she spoke, and finally opened them at her question. His heart throbbed, and he longed to make her understand. He put out his chest, and took a deep breath. "Maplestar.. I did not intend for Silverstripe to become injured. S-Silverstream was being crushed by a dog, so we both, me and Silverstripe, attacked. We managed to free her, so I dragged her to safety. In the next split second the dog recovered and lunged at Silverstripe." he paused, gritting his teeth. "I had no control over what it did to her." he hissed through clenched teeth. "Maplestar.. I beg you.. please do not think my loyalty is wavering." his eyes watered, and his whole body shuddered. "I don't even know if Silverstream lived.."

"You should never have stopped fighting the dog." Maplestar was unsympathetic, and was clearly doing her best to chain her growing fury. "No, you did not have control over what the dog did. But by leaving her to fend for herself, you opened her up to attack. I've fought countless dogs in my lifetime, Shadowpelt, and I am yet to see a cat who took on a dog solo come out alive or not seriously injured. How am I supposed to not believe that your loyalty is not divided?" Maplestar's gaze grew even harder at his pleading. "Seeing her again is out of the question, Shadowpelt. Do not plead with me. Right now, Cloudshade is fighting for Silverstripe's life. She will probably give it for Silverstream. I'm saddened that you don't seem to care about that." Though Maplestar was so calm, her words were blunt, yet cut like the sharpest blade.
"But she wasn't fighting solo!" Shadowpelt yelled out, his pelt bristling. He couldn't contain himself. "There were cats fighting the same dog!" he yelped, his yellow eyes narrowed. "I do care about her! I care about both of them! It's driving me insane!" he yelled, every hair on his body prickled.

Maplestar's anger finally boiled over. "Do not disrespect your leader!" She yowled. Her lips curled up in a rare, yet absolutely terrifying, snarl. "Do not lie to me! Multiple cats told me that she was alone. Your betrayal is bad enough without your dishonesty!" She snarled, before she managed to contain her fury again. "Your Clan trusted you and looked up to you... It wasn't just their trust you broke, either. You broke Silverstripe's. And mine." Though it seemed impossible, her eyes got darker. "You took advantage of Silverstripe's life, and me. You know, I was going to make you my deputy before all this happened." She padded towards the entrance, before she stopped again. She didn't even turn around as she continued, "I am so ashamed of you, and so should you. I should exile you... but I'll leave it up to Silverstripe and the Clan to decide. Afterwards, Dapplestar and I are gonna have a little chat." She then padded out and jumped onto the Highrock, calling out, "let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!"

Shadowpelt shrunk to the ground, tears welling in his eyes. He respected his leader more than anyone, and to hear that she was disappointed in him was almost like a killing blow. He followed her out, his shoulders sagging, his tail on the ground, and his heart in the dirt. He knew no one would accept him after this... and now, because if him, his mate might be killed. His kits might never have the chance to grow protected and loved in a clan. He sat behind Maplestar, watching the cats gather round.

Dovewing looked up at her son on the highrock, and nearly fainted. She had heard rumors of his affair with a Riverclan she-cat, but had refused to believe them. Now, reality was hitting her like a bag of sand. Shadowpelt's her eyes met, and she almost felt his grief. He looked at the ground again, as Dovewing shoved her way to the front of the crowd.

"Exile!" Kestrelflight and a few others instantly yowled. But a few others were pondering, particularly Rainshadow. They stared at Shadowpelt with scrutinizing, yet thoughtful gazes.

Meanwhile, in the medicine den, Silverstripe had regained consciousness, but was in terrible pain. Despite her agony, however, she smirked a bit as she heard Maplestar and the Clan's words. "You had it coming, Shadow," she murmured to herself.

Dovewing blinked slowly, pleading with Starclan for mercy. She opened them again, casting a helpless glance at her son.

Shadowpelt sat down, his ears back, not wanting to hear their conclusion. He knew his fate. Life as rogue, and to forever be known as a traitor.
Ashkit, Rainkit, and Shadowkit clustered around their mother; all had tears in their eyes, and Rainkit was wailing. Ashkit looked at Frostcloud, his tiny paws quivering. "She's going to be okay... right?" he mewled, sniffling.

(Do you have any plans for his fate? Rainshadow's vote will determine it. They won't exile him, btw)

"Yes, she will." It was a bit of a lie, but telling the kits the hard truth would only panic them.

Maplestar watched as her Clan gathered. Around, scornful and satisfied gazes watched him. "ShadowClan," Maplestar thundered. "Today, nearly costed a Clanmate's life for a RiverClan she-cat. He has shown us that his loyalties are divided. What are your wishes for him?"

"Wait," Rainshadow called over the commotion. Everyone fell silent.

(Do you have any plans for his fate? Rainshadow's vote will determine it. They won't exile him, btw)

"Yes, she will." It was a bit of a lie, but telling the kits the hard truth would only panic them.
Davewing's different colored eyes fell on the cat, pleading in her heart.

(No, I haven't thought of any plans. But thanks for not exiling him. :p)

Ashkit smiled, bumping his brother and sister. Shadowkit stopped sniffling, but Rainkit wailed louder. Silverstream's side rose and fell with each ragged breath, but after a few seconds, her eyes opened. "Momma!" Rainkit squealed, licking her mother madly.
