Maplestar nodded slowly. "You don't need to be afraid," she mewed. "I know that your loyalty lies with ShadowClan, and as long as you are, I won't stop you." A note of sadness and grief was in her voice; her eyes weren't focused on Shadowpelt, but on the horizon, towards WindClan.

(Can he ask her how she knew? Plan :P)

Shadowkit squealed, and pounced at Hailkit.

Sahdowpelt slowly looked up at her, his eyes questioning. "M-Maplestar, may I ask how you knew?" He asked timidly.

Hailkit batted at his ears.

Maplestar's attention snapped back, and her head lowered for a second. She looked far from being the proud leader of ShadowClan that had led her Clan for many moons. "I was in your place, many moons before I became leader." Her voice was soft, barely above a whisper. "I fell in love with a WindClan tom."

Shadowkit hissed, running to headbutt his opponent.

Sahdowpelt's eyes widened. He couldn't imagine Maplestar, the leader of Shadowclan, breaking the warrior code. "I'm sorry." Was all he could think to say.
 
Hailkit whirled around to try and bat at him again.

Maplestar gave a resigned shrug. "Many moons have passed." She looked at the horizon towards WindClan again. Mapleshade, Blackstripe, Kestrelflight, Cloudbreeze. My kits.
 
(I'm just gonna say Kestrelflight's still alive, and that Ebonykit delivered the prophecy. I like Kestrelflight lol)

Shadowkit pulled back, shaking his tail in the air. He fixed a blue eyed glare on Hailkit, kneading his paws on the den floor.

Shadowpelt nodded, then stiffened. If Silverstream was pregnant, and had her kits, that would make him a father. "M-Maplestar..." He blinked, trying to clear his thoughts. "The gathering is tonight... right?" He looked up at her with hopeful eyes.

Hailkit took a swipe at his shoulder.

Maplestar's attention snapped back again. "Yes," she mewed, "that reminds me, I need to announce who's going. Do you want to come?"

Shadowkit screeched, tumbling back over his tail.

"Yes please!" Shadowpelt nodded, his tail weaving. "D-do you th-think she's gonna go?" He murmured, almost to himself.
