At Fourtrees, Mapleshade took her seat by the other deputies. Owlpaw sat by the apprentices, but her attention was somewhere else, and she kept stealing glances in the direction of the twolegplace.

Sagestar leaped up onto the highrock, scanning the clans with her hard eyes.
 
Maplepaw bounded over to her mentor as Sorrelstar led her Clan to Fourtrees. "What's a Gathering like?" She asked Sparrowflight excitedly.

Maplestar led her Clan into the clearing, jumping onto the Great Rock. She gave Sagestar a cold look before she scanned the clearing.

Tension pricked the air as ShadowClan arrived and they took their seats by WindClan.

Sparrowflight purred with amusement. "You'll find out in just a minute." She winked, giving Maplepaw an affectionate swipe with her tail.

Sagestar's hackles bristled with annoyance, but she kept her eyes straight ahead and pushed away the urge to lash out at Maplestar.

Shadowpelt glanced around the clearing, his eyes desperately searching for Silverstream.
 
Maplepaw's tail quivered in excitement. Sorrelstar led ThunderClan into the clearing, and Maplepaw's jaw dropped in astonishment. "So many cats!"

Dapplestar led RiverClan in shortly after Sorrelstar arrived, taking her spot beside the ThunderClan leader on the Great Rock. Tension sparked between the ThunderClan and RiverClan cats; they were bitter about their recent spit over Sunningrocks, especially RiverClan, after a humiliating defeat.

Sparrowflight purred, motioning toward the other apprentices. "Take a seat over there, and be friendly..." She began to walk away before stopping and adding, "But not to friendly." She winked and sat down.

Silverstream sat down, next to Troutfur. Her eyes scanned the group of cats. They rested upon a black cat, and she purred with delight. "Steady there." Troutfur growled, swatting her gently with a paw. "You know, I'm supposed to be your mate." Silverstream rolled her eyes, but deep inside, she knew he meant something more than he let on.
 
Desertpaw looked at the cats. Tension was thick in the air. She saw Sagestar, looking coldly at everyone. She shivered and stayed close to Blacshadow and her sisters. Ebonypaw looked around with confidents, ignoring all the stares she was getting. She sat down right by Desertpaw. Cottonpaw tried to ignore the stares but returned them with a cold glare. She then sat right beside her sisters and watched the leaders.
