The dog howled. Kestrelflight, Larksong's mate, lunged for the dog's face.
"Larksong!" Silverpaw whimpered, running to her mother's side.
"I'm fine..." she grunted, wincing at the pain in her scruff.
Shadowpelt chased him all the way. He stopped beside Kestrelflight, "Kelstrelflight! Are you alright?" He asked, panic rising within him.The dog turned and began to run away, but it had Kestrelflight in its jaws. Halfway to the Thunderpath it dropped him, his neck crushed.
"Get... get Silverpaw and Stormpaw," he rasped.
"Dad!" Silverpaw yowled, racing to her father's side along with Stormpaw.
Shadowpelts sat back, hanging his head. His tail curled around his paws calmly, though a murderous anger rose within him."Kestrelflight!" Stormpaw looked at his father anxiously. "Are you alright?! Somebody get Cloudfeather!!"
"Stormpaw," Kestrelflight said gently, his voice barely above a whisper, "I don't need Cloudfeather, for, where I'm going."
"No, father!" Silverpaw cried, licking his shoulder desperately.
"I'll be with you forever in StarClan," he whispered, "I promise." His sides gave a massive shudder, and his eyes glazed over. He was dead.
