Adderflight padded out of the elder's den, muttering about his stiff joints and how it was Rainpaw's fault for putting in wet moss. "Tonight would be a great night for hunting," he remarked, looking out into the forest wistfully.

"They won't do anything." Silverpaw's voice was laced with comtempt as she glowered at her brother and Rainpaw.

Hesitantly, Specklefur laid her tail on his back and looked into his eyes.

"Oh, well, you know, with them doing that, you'll probably become a warrior faster than they will." Shadowpelt gave a small smile, licking her head.

Troutfur glanced around, licking her cheek again.

Sagestar raised her voice to speak. "This gathering has begun. Dapplestar, you may speak." she dipped her head.

"I sure hope so! I'd love to see the look on their faces when I'm a warrior and they're cleaning out the elder's den!"

Specklefur settled beside him as the Gathering began.

"The river is swelling from rain," Dapplestar meowed, "but fishing is well." She nodded for Maplestar to begin.

"Prey is running well in ShadowClan," Maplestar reported. "Our deputy, Sandfeather, will be retiring to the elder's den tomorrow."

Dovewing turned, nodding sourly. "Yeah... stupid old bones." She griped, flicking her tail angrily.

"It's all Rainpaw and Stormpaw's fault," Ravenfoot complained as he padded to the fresh-kill pile and took a magpie. "They either get wet moss or dry bracken for bedding."

Adderflight murmured his agreement.

Silverpaw looked at him in surprise. "You still won't train me?" She had changed back to the normal Silverpaw, just as soon as she had changed from being so angry at Stormpaw and Rainpaw.

"Our deputy, Spottedleaf, has been captured by Twolegs," Sorrelstar reported, her eyes reflecting the sadness at the loss of her friend. "But otherwise, all is well in ThunderClan."

"Well if you want me too, I'd love too." Shadowpelt mewed, happy that she still wanted him to train her.

Murmurers of surprise and anger rang out among the cats, but only one did not act worried. Tigerclaw, clawed his nails through the dirt, creating long, thick gouges. A sly smirk was on his face, his eyes gleaming with cunning intent.
