~Warriors RP~ ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan

Specklefur's ears swiveled around as she heard a twig snap nearby. Her fur began to bristle uneasily. There weren't any more foreboding sounds, but Specklefur was still unsettled. "Troutfur... you remember what we do in case someone's nearby, right?"

"Why?" Silverstripe asked, sounding a bit sleepy. "I love it here... everyone in ShadowClan could live here... it's just perfect..."
"Course." Troutfur hissed, already pinning his ears. He bared his teeth, puffing out his tail. He made a low 'rouwr' sound, but he winked at his mate and kittens.

"Becuase....... I love you..."

Specklefur let out a growl, her fur fluffing up, but kept her claws sheathed. Shadowkit and Ebonykit looked bewildered. "Why are mom and dad fighting?" Ebonykit whispered.

Silverstripe looked at him in utter confusion. "No you don't, Shadowpelt..."

One of the little toms put his ears back, his bottom lip trembling. "I don't know..."
Troutfur growled, but looked around with his eyes. "What do you think it was?"

"What?" Shadowpelt meowed, shocked. "What are you talking about?"

Specklefur glanced around uneasily. "I don't know... but I don't think it was a cat."
Ebonykit looked on in confusion. "Why did you do that?" She was completely oblivious that Troutfur and Specklefur couldn't be seen together, or what might happen if they were.

"You don't," Silverstripe blinked.

Troutfur glanced around warily, but let his fur lay flat. "It's just a game me and mommy play." he replied to Ebonykit, smiling nervously.

"What? I do love you!" Shadowpelt insisted, looking astonished.

"Oh," Ebonykit mewed, looking relieved. "Shadowkit and I do that all the time! I tackled her today!" Her tail swished with excitement. Shadowkit, meanwhile, looked indignant.

"Only because I let you!" Shadowkit protested.

"No, you just say that as an excuse!" Ebonykit yowled with triumph.

"You can't love two she-cats at once, Shadowpelt," Silverstripe shook her head sadly, turning to look back at the night sky. She didn't know that he did love her, just not in the way she felt for him.

Troutfur chuckled, still looking around.

"Wh- what?!" Shadowpelt gasped, his eyes huge. "Silverstripe.... I do love you!"

Specklefur's ears shot up in alarm as she caught a new scent on the breeze. Smokewhisker! "Mouse dung," she hissed to herself. "Troutfur... we gotta go. Smokewhisker's looking for me." Oh please don't have seen me, oh please don't, Specklefur prayed silently.

Silverstripe gave him a gaze that seemed firm, yet held all the sadness in the world. "You can't love both Silverstream and me," she sighed. "I never stopped loving you, Shadowpelt," she went on. "Never. Here, the pain is just... gone. I wish everyone else in ShadowClan was here, but it's nothing compared to what I push down and cover up with a brave face back in the Clan."

Troutfur's fur instantly shot up, and a low growl escaped his lips. "Bye. See you all tomorrow." and with that, he licked each one of his kits, and Specklefur, then scampered off.

Shadowpelt's heart sank. She knows. His ears drooped, head hung, and tail went limp. He mumbled something undetectable, and sat down.

Specklefur trotted back to the WindClan border, and was almost instantly greeted by the smokey black and white tom. "What were you doing?!" Smokewhisker exclaimed. 'I've been worried about you!"

Specklefur resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Smokewhisker always got on her nerves. "I just went for a walk. Showed Fourtrees to the kits." Her tail flicked impatiently.

"We saw-" Ebonykit almost yowled, but Specklefur cut her off, laying her tail across her mouth. She gave Ebonykit a warning look to not speak.

Silverstripe turned back to the grassy clearing in front of her. "I guess this is goodbye," she murmured.
