Earlier today, I found my girl Connie, bleeding profusely from her vent with a partially passed large egg.

By the time I had been on here looked up what to do, ran a warm(Ish)bath and got my lubricant, she was limp and practically lifeless. So I made my husband do the "deed"

We are first time chicken owners and I feel awful, especially after reading that this is treatable. The other girls are covered in her blood, so I think they'd been having a go at her too.
I've never been racked with as much guilt in my life!!! :(

So sorry for your loss, but the truth of the matter is this is something that will happen to each of us eventually...wishing you well!

Didn't sound too good with so much bleeding. Possibly treatable but for me the egg laying problems are the worst. You'd have to get the remaining pieces out and then treat with biotics. That first part would have probably finished her off.
