Hi guys. I’m pretty new chicken owner here. We have started with some Silkies as they are supposed to be family friendly. I was sold this beauty as a hen, but now I’m not so sure. She has been crowing heaps, and I’ve researched that and it could be normal for different circumstances. But I’ve tried finding pictures of hen with large combs and have been unsuccessful. She has the fluffy top though.

Sorry its a rooster someone dumped off on you ..hope you didnt pay for it otherwise id get my money back if you bought a female and they purposely gave you a male

Thanks everyone for the replies. Very appreciated 😊

So this is what Henri(etta) looked like when we got it. No streamer feathers. So maybe that’s why they thought it was a hen 🤷🏼‍♀️. And one of our chicks we got developed the streamers, you can see him on the left. This breed is hard to determine sex I guess 😞

Based off of these picture they knew exactly what they were doing dumping boys on you. Henry is still very obviously a cockerel in this picture with a comb that size at that age.

Silkies are definitely harder to sex.
