Shortly after the photo was taken, they became scrambled eggs, quite tasty
Now I know what to look for, it'll also be a good photo to show people that think eating fertile eggs are "gross", the only difference between a fertile and infertile egg collected right after laying is a small disc of developing cells....
Admittedly if the hen has had more than 24 hours sitting on the egg, there would be a little more difference.....
The egg was from one of my Buff Orpingtons, and there was a 50/50 chance the father was either Tribble or Raven
So it could have been a Silkie/Cochin/Orp mix (Tribble+BO), or a Cochin/Orp (Raven/BO) mix
...turns out Raven is all Cochin, both parents
Once one of my hens goes broody, I'll let her hatch some eggs, either mix should be adorable....
