I gathered this egg on 12/2/14, it's been under refrigeration since then, am I seeing the "bullseye" on the yolk?

Good to know :)

And the correct syntax in this case, is...
"Yes, it *WAS* fertile"

Shortly after the photo was taken, they became scrambled eggs, quite tasty

Now I know what to look for, it'll also be a good photo to show people that think eating fertile eggs are "gross", the only difference between a fertile and infertile egg collected right after laying is a small disc of developing cells....

Admittedly if the hen has had more than 24 hours sitting on the egg, there would be a little more difference.....

The egg was from one of my Buff Orpingtons, and there was a 50/50 chance the father was either Tribble or Raven

So it could have been a Silkie/Cochin/Orp mix (Tribble+BO), or a Cochin/Orp (Raven/BO) mix

...turns out Raven is all Cochin, both parents

Once one of my hens goes broody, I'll let her hatch some eggs, either mix should be adorable....
