So was this supposed to be an egg? Or what? I have 6 silkies and 3 other hens. I thought the silkies were all Roos but the other day I went out and found two creamy pinkish eggs (I’ll post a picture of them, one was a double Yorker) well today I find this curly Q thing that I’m assuming was supposed to be an egg? But it’s very slimy. Is there cause for concern? How can I fix it?

When did they start laying?

It's not unusual to get some weird stuff when they first come into lay. One of my girls has been laying a few long guys like you've got there, a couple soft shells, and even a shell-less. Takes them a while to work out the kinks.

(But, yeah, that was supposed to be an egg. )

They started laying this past Tuesday and it was a complete shock. I’m still trying to figure which ones are laying them 😅
