Was wondering what types of chickens i have? also what color eggs they will lay?

I see a black smooth cochin bantam, two frizzled bantam cochins, and a speckled sussex hen.

I learned a general rule of thumb to tell egg colors by the color of their ear lopes! Red lopes indicate brown (or shades of brown) eggs, blue/green ear lopes indicate blue eggs.

If that were true my silkies would lay bright turquoise blue eggs!

We have a bluebell who has neon green ear lopes, and she lays beautiful minty blue eggs!

this is as close as I have. It's not too clear in the picture, but it's green! The photo was taken before she started laying.

And her egg color: her egg is the second from top. Her egg color is EXACTLY the same as those blue ceramic eggs we bought. I sometimes picked the wrong egg!!
