I do this too, plus I dispense the towel BEFORE I wash my hands. Then I don't have to worry about the icky handle. And if I can't open the door with my towel, I open it with my hand in my shirt sleeve or shirttail.

And I never eat salad in restaurants any more. Either they aren't washed right, or whatever they're washed with messes up my stomach. I love salad, but I only eat it at home.

OH ....I feel sooo much more normal now after reading all these post regarding germs....maybe I am not OCB after all!! I am just doing like my Mamma and Daddy raised me to do and using common sense !!
When I go to a food bar or buffet....I always use the hand sanitizer after handling all those big serveing spoons. Figure a million people used them before me and they are probally as bad as touching a door knob.

And I too, quit eating salads in resturants ...I love salad...but wash my lettuce well, and make it at home. I enjoy it even more without the fear of dirty hands. Thanks for all the great ideas on how to stay germ free or atleast phobia free!!!

And beware of those shopping carts, those handles are loaded. Sorry, don't mean to add to your worries, but...

I used to see all kinds of sneezing and when the person covers their mouth & nose when they sneeze then used those hands on the shopping cart handle. And that's only what I've seen.
