I am not sure where to put this, so I am putting it here. Move it if you need to.
I have a Japanese Bantam rooster and he got his huge comb caught on the wire cage today and bled all over the place. He was a bloody mess when I found him. Blood all over his nice white feathers as well as the nest box and his hens.
Well, I decided I better clean him up. I ended up giving him a full on bath, not what I planned on, but that is what happened. I partially dried him with the blow dryer and put him in a dog carrier for the night in the house. I just checked on him and all is well, BUT now his long tail feathers are backward, going over his head instead of the other way. I want to take him to a show next month and I can't take him looking like this! Is there anything I can do to get his feathers to go the right way? Should I wet them down again and see if they do the right way on their own?
Thanks. I know this sounds lame, but I really do want some help.
