I am not sure where to put this, so I am putting it here. Move it if you need to.

I have a Japanese Bantam rooster and he got his huge comb caught on the wire cage today and bled all over the place. He was a bloody mess when I found him. Blood all over his nice white feathers as well as the nest box and his hens.
Well, I decided I better clean him up. I ended up giving him a full on bath, not what I planned on, but that is what happened. I partially dried him with the blow dryer and put him in a dog carrier for the night in the house. I just checked on him and all is well, BUT now his long tail feathers are backward, going over his head instead of the other way. I want to take him to a show next month and I can't take him looking like this! Is there anything I can do to get his feathers to go the right way? Should I wet them down again and see if they do the right way on their own?
Thanks. I know this sounds lame, but I really do want some help.

sorry, I have no idea what to do, but perhaps a bump will help someone who DOES know to see the post ~ maybe in the title of the post you could add the words ~now feathers are weird~ or something, so folks who know what to do will see right off what the issue is. Hope all goes well.

Maybe get his tail wet, and let him dry himself in a larger area where it can hang down normally. Don't blow dry it, maybe the air current pushed it the wrong direction and it dried that way. Maybe he needs some hair gel and a big roller...
I bet people who show birds regularly have methods to get unruly feathers under control... know any 4H poultry families or similar?
