WASHER AND DRYER

We purchased Frigidaire Gallery extra large capacity front load washer and dryer. The set is 8 yrs old and we have not had any problems and I do a lot of laundry!

When I retired I purchased the Kenmore HE3T washer and dryer set from sears. I got the extended warrantee for 5 years. I had preventitive maintenance done once a year on both machines (covered by insurance) I renewed the maintenance agreement and have not had any mechanical problems. One of my favorite things is that the dryer keeps up with the washer. wash towels, put in dryer and when the next load is done in the washer, the towels are dry and ready to be folded. It's expensive to buy the set, but to me worth every penny.

Our washer at home, 10 year old Kenmore top loader, doesn't give us a bit of trouble *knock on wood*. Neither does the dryer, a 14 year old RCA. These I inherited from my SO's Mom.
I always dreamed of having one of those front loading matching sets; until we got a set of them (Kenmores) at work.
We do anywhere between 8 to 10 loads of clothes a day at work. The dryer does alright, although I always set it on the timed cycle instead of the auto cycles because it was always "telling" me that the clothes were dried and stopping, when they were not. The washer has been a headache. It collects mildew around the rubber gasket in the door unless you very carefully dry the ring after each use. Also, it's new trick is to suddenly get stuck in a cycle (usually the spin cycle). All the lights on the touch panel start flashing and you have to go thru a whole series of steps before it will even unlock it's door to let you get the clothes out! At which time we have to take the clothes out of it and transfer them to the top loader to finish washing. We've had the serviceman out twice and he told us different each time and still didn't fix it.
I'll stick with my old, unmatched set instead.

I have the Kenmore He3 washer, and have very good luck with it. Only had the repair company out to do the yearly check for the warranty (she said mine was the cleanest she had seen, lol!) I do alot of laundry too, with a husband that does landscaping-read playing in the dirt for 10-12 hours a day, and 3 boys

Oh, and if that name doesn't make sense, it is a front load, high efficiency washer. I use Tide HE soap...was told by some people that you could use "regular" soap, just less of, but the repairwoman that came out said I needed to stick with the HE=less sudsy. Had a...I think it was called Calypso-from Sears, before frontloads became popular, it was a top load, but had a really short agitator, that "tumbled" clothes instead of spun them...used regular soap, but less amounts in that one, and had the repair man out 4 times in one month...eventually got my complete money back (had the washer for about 1 and a half years too!) and bought the front load. I was told part of the problem was suds-actually shut the washer down a couple of times, it locked up and wouldn't even drain

Needless to say, when we went back to Sears a couple of months later, and after already getting the front load, we were told they had discontinued that style of washer.

Edited to add: my post came in right after yours, gritsar, and it sounds like I'm posting towards yours, lol! Just don't want you to think I am arguing with you, that's a bummer you have to deal with that...I know the feeling, especially after the whole mess with that Calypso washer...at least I think that was the name.

I also have the Kenmore HE3 washer dryer set. Energy efficient, water saving and my clothes are super clean.
I agree that they are a bit spendy, but worth it! I think we even got a tax credit in Oregon.

The last set I had was my late mother's kenmore set that I remember my dad giving her in 1972 for an anniversary present (

). In 2004, they were still going strong. I gave them away and bought my new ones.

I have Kenmore HE3T washer and dryer, too!! I could not be more pleased. Any problems that I am beginning to have are related to my EXTREMELY hard water(even softened), and low water pressure.

I pay for the maintenance agreement, and they will come and fix it when it breaks!

The first month I had it (we lived in town then and had a water meter) I used 3000 gallons LESS water than the previous month.....

Good Luck!

For what it's worth, when I was having our washer fixed for I asked the repairman what new brand he would recommend. He said hands down the Whirlpool Duet (which is the same thing as the Kenmore HE3.)

I have an LG front loader washer and electric dryer. I like the dryer . I LOATHE the washer. I will never buy a front loading washer again. I hate not being able to quickly lift the lid after it has started to throw a last minute item in. I hate not being able to fill it and let stuff just soak before washing. And I hate having to wipe out the rubber seal often so it doesn't get gooey and stinky.

We have a Staber heavy duty HE washer and a Maytag dryer. The Staber is nice because while it is a toploader, it spins vertically. You can pack it with large blankets, sheets, etc. The fuller the better. It's been great. And it's easy to fix. We had mine at our motel for 3 years of daily washings before I got it home. YaY. DH just had to replace some bearings. Just opened the front and popped them in. (JMHO)

Maytag Neptune stackable pair and they do a great job, no issues in 2 years. I got them because my parents had no issues with theirs in 5 years and they still don't so 7 now.

If your laundry equipment is traveling I'd suggest you check the floor, it's probably not level, or maybe the feet of the machine need adjustment.
