I agree with yellowdragon...do not wash hatching eggs
Use only clean eggs that are layed. You do not want to wash your eggs as this removes the
oils from the shell that protects the egg and may allow disease and bacteria to enter the egg.

I always wash my dirty hatching eggs with warm water and they are always fine. If they are clean, I do NOT wash them. But if they are dirty, rather than introducing bacteria into my incubator, I dip them in Brinsea solution.
Just wanted to let everyone know....I put some washed eggs under one hen ......and i put clean, unwashed eggs under a diff. hen.....I'll let everyone know the results in about 19 more days...lol. Thanks everyone!!!!

Well.........i tryed it!!! Out of ten eggs i got 5 chicks!!!! I put the eggs under a broody game hen. Soooo i guess it's a 50/50 chance they will hatch if you wash them!!! I had much better hatches out of the UNwashed eggs!!!
