washing eggs with eggs on them

Stuff happens in the nest box sometimes! If an egg breaks in the nest box, I wash the eggs that got slimed, refrigerate them, and save them for my own use. Any egg that is stained also gets used by me, never sold. If an egg is just yucky, the dog or the chickens get it.

Any egg that has been washed for any reason should be refrigerated.

Thank you, I haven't been refrigerating mine and I've been sharing with everyone. Yesterday I got a few that needed to be washed so I washed and put those immediately in the refrigerator.

I wash my eggs in warm running water and refrigerate them all. It's just safer, and the eggs stay fresh much longer. "A day at room temperature is like a week in the refrigerator", confirmed by actual research. Mary
