Washing eggs~

Hello!! Whats the rules about washing eggs?

I have a fancy feathered miss that no matter how much i trim her feathers up, she still seems to get poo stuck to her and in turn streaks the eggs (yuck!). My neighbor told me not to wash them until I'm ready to eat them because of a natural barrier on the outside of the egg (isnt that the shell...?).

What dooo I do?
