Washington Feather Fanciers Show Chehalis, WA Nov 17-18 Also birds that are being brought for sale

There were five or six Heritage RIR at the show. I didn't get to stay long enough to see how they placed or do I know who the breeder/owners are. Can anyone on this thread help me out with that?

I don't know if any of them placed, but there was a single comb and a rose comb cock fight I had to break up. The cage divider wasn't properly attached.......

Please feel free to post your question on the Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/717207/washingtonians-come-together-washington-peeps There are several members that live in Oregon, that post regularly post on the WA thread. The only draw back to the thread is how hard it is too keep up with. I should think that someone should know the answer on the WA thread though. If not you would need to contact the WFF club. The announcements were very difficult to hear. I barely even got to look at the birds. Between a very late start for myself, the potluck, and a neighbor's teenager, I felt torn into many directions.

I will also like to make sure that you would be more than welcome at any of the potlucks, held by the Washington thread group. The only thing we have started to ask is that, the potluck is for BYC members and their families, otherwise I doubt we care where anyone lives.

Thank you. We had to leave before 11am on Saturday to get back to Whidbey Island before dark. In the three short hours I was there, all my time was spent looking at birds and picking up those I purchased. I felt lucky to run into M. Best and get a couple gorgeous Grey Silkies. It happened totally by chance in that crowd back at the sale pen area. I hung around the cages of birds I admired hoping to meet the breeders or owners but no luck there.
I will post the question on that thread. I subscribe to it but can't keep up. A very chatty group.
Thank you again for the invite. That is very kind of you.

I am so sorry that I missed you at the show. I didn't arrive until about 12:30 pm. I was so mad at myself, because I had been hoping to arrive about 9:30 or 10 am. I would love to see some pictures of your new Silkies. I bought a porcelain Silkie hen from Margie last year. I must say that my Miss Totoo is my favorite hen of all time.

As for keeping up on the thread; you are not the only one. I have trouble, and I am a stay at home dog mom. Sometimes all a person can do is check in with the group, and ask questions as needed. There really aren't that many rules, and the group is very flexible.

We arrived in Chehalis late Friday night and stayed at the Holiday Express. We were unaccustomed to hearing trains in the night. They ran by the hotel and sounded horns every 1/2 hour all night. We were wide awake at 5am and spent a lot of time driving around the area sight seeing until around 8am when we saw people penning birds at the barn.

When we drove past Yard Birds on the way to the fair grounds, my DH started laughing. We haven't seen one of these in over 35 years!
I am sorry to have missed meeting you and many others on BYC. The sheer volumn of birds, people, and the noise was a lot to take in. Three hours and my ears were ringing and I was getting dizzy from the over load on the senses.
M. Best was so kind to spend as much time as she did talking to me about the Silkies. The crowds around the sale pens was intense! A lot of birds and $ were changing hands. I feel so fortunate to have a chance with the two little Greys. They are housed in a little upstairs condo in my barn. I double up my breeding pens to save on floor space. They are level with my face and come up to the wire to peep at me. I'm totally smitten with them. The gentlest, sweetest little chickens I've had in many years.
They are 3 1/2 months old. Waiting for my Grandchildren to visit before naming them. Children come up with the cutest names sometimes.

The little male is already showing awesome rooster traits. He lets the female eat first and he steps between me and her when I approach the pen. So sweet.
I had made prearrangement's to purchase production pullets from Jean. She had two buff reddish girls for me and I also purchased two black pullets. Mixed breeds. I think she said they were 20 or 22 weeks old. Can't remember. They are in the quarantine coop for a few weeks. They are named Phoebe, Edith (buff girls) and Janet and Judy the blacks. They will go with my Production RIR roo Johnny and free range this Spring.

I also purchased White Silkie hatching eggs from Sheryl Butler through K. Hunter. They are in the bator now. It's an old Little Giant Still Air. Haven't used it since the mid 90's. Hope it still works. I'll candle them in a week.

The show was everything and more than expected. I am very much looking forward to the next WFF event.

One of the things that I have learned about bators like yours is, replace the wafer. The wafers have something in them that can evaporate.

Are you sure its the pump or is it the Starter ? Little box mounted on the wall probably near pressure tank
It was the power supply! A small maple tree was rubbing the power line and the well guy said it was only getting 110 and needed 220. So, yet another day later the power company had to come up and turn our power off, cut down poor little tree (that we have to watch now) and fixed the power line. We now have fully functional well!

Mumsy, if you can read the exhibitor number in the upper left hand corner of the cage cards on any of your photos I can give you names. I grabbed an exhibitor list! Unfortunatly they are listed by number not the breed being shown.
