LOL Chickielady, I WAS one of those crazy parrot ladys when I lived in Seattle. I had a breeding flock of Cockatiels, and my main project was breeding for Black Cockatiels. Out of 400 chicks in 5 years I was able to produce 7 pairs, three of those would actually throw iether black or Lutino chicks "Lutino's are yellow." The other four pairs would give me 1 black out of ever clutch. It was alot of work and dedication, but I enjoyed the experience, and to top it all off, my neighbors loved me, and didn't even know I had as many as 20 adults in my house at a time. Somewhere around here I still have all my breeding records, and sales reciepts. I also hand raised "actual" parots for the tweetery in Ballard, the owner Jamey is a wonderfull man, and I couldn't have found a better business partner at the time.
I'm kinda hoping that Chicken genetics are as easy to pick up on as the Cockatiels were.
