Did you see an allergist yet ?
Be prepared to spend as much as years trying to figure out what she is allergic to...that is why a diary is so important, what she eats, how much sun she gets, what she does, and if she is stressed is very important in many allergists opinion, for example::: Breaking up with my love in 1987...I did not want it to happen but it involved my son (from a different man) always getting into this guys stuff...and it was an either he goes or I go situation...I was so distraught, that I awoke one morning COVERD in welts the size of dinner plates...water blisterd, and slouthing off all surface skin, for all intents, thei looked exactly like someone splashed me with scalding OIL.
I had no skin...remember this happened in hours.
The burning was so intense I could not sleep/eat//work, I could not bandage all the square yards of myself that had no skin...it was just oozy red meat.... we thought it was some sort of poison oak as I has been working arabians horses in the hills, but there is no such thing in that area:::Glide OR.
When my BF and I finally got our poop straightened out, we moved on to Ione OR (ranch managing) and all my oozing burning welts disapeared overnight.
I do not lie, what was a scald as if you tossed burning OIL on me, and would not heal, disapeared as soon as we found work and moved on....my son included.
Overnight.
The immunal system is an army inside you that can destroy you...if incline to do so.
Some of that is genetic...and why is a big Q I want to know, for example::: Why does Rhuematoid attack when a person is at 40-50 years old ?
During that period, the immunal system attacks the fingers and toes relentlously...until the person is crippled and suffering so much pain as to be hideous....and then it stops, and the victim is pain free, the immunal system calm yet again...but the victim is crippled with the fingers and toes sideways so much so that it is difficult to walk, and comb your hair or do anything when your fingers are all scrunched sideways......but it only happens for a few years, from my grandma at age 49 to about age 60...it is predisposed genetically to happen.

OK enough scarey Chickelady stuff !!!!!
Let's celebrate the season and I will have fertile eggs soon and will have more chicks soon and am so excited !!!!!!!!!!
AND it is the season~~

The Celiac gene, and Wilson's ""syndrom"" are my problem, and it is sad how bad a person can be attacked by their own immunal system...like MD for example.
And so, we move on to the next show:::I am so excited !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chehalis !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does that mean the rustler will be there...O yeah.......................it is his backyard

And I am still looking for a fuel oil tank ??? Anyone ???

And:: RAINWOLF::: Steve and the guys should be here tomorrow, along with my well guy...

The chicks are now safe and sound here at home. They are comfortably napping in their pen

I have done some reading on these threads and I've decided to order a special, safer heat lamp (I can't recall the name right now). I still feel horrible about what happened earlier.

I have 4 10-week old chicks who are now in their "big girl" pen, so it's not like I'm new to regulating the heat in a chick's environment. I feel like a fool. All I can figure is that maybe since the box was tall but narrow, maybe the heat was trapped in it... because the lamp could not have been closer than 18". After the ordeal, I took a box knife and cut the box down by half and didn't have any more overheating problems. I guess it was a lesson I will never forget.

I do wonder if the RIR has a sour crop... I've noticed, even before today's debacle, that every so often there would be a clear slime come out of its mouth. While trying to cool down the chick I slightly pushed on its crop and it forced more of the slime out. What do you all think? The chick is only 3 days old.

CIgal you don't need a special lamp just a good one with ceramic socket and a box/brooder big enough that the chicks can get out of the light.
I have a long narrow brooder box 1.5' x 3' I put all the food and water on one end and the light in the other. The babies can then snuggle under the light or spread out. They also have to leave the heat light to eat/drink which helps them feather up imho.

Chloe is doing well. We are waiting referal paperwork from her Dr. I'm not sure when I will get them. We've been fairly busy around here. I'm getting ready to start building the second horse shed, plus I need to work on the addition to the coop. The extension to my run will be simple, as I have pre made panels just waiting to be put in place and bolted down. I fianally got a drill, so I don't have to use hammer and nails for EVERYTHING. I have more than enough lumber to build the 6'x5' additions frame, but still need to get plywood for the walls...

Ok well I guess I am going to my mothers for a while. So I might be back later tonight, but don't know for sure.

I hate being sick and trying to work
