It looks like a regular 5 gal bucket...and we have one with a spigot attached already.
I think it may have been a necessity in dry areas, but not needed here !!

How many times have you used yours now ?
And how was it running ?
Sensitive ?
Reliable ?
I can' t wait to use mine but have to make sure all parts work and still saving up eggs...

I'm not sure how the bucket feeds the water tray without overflowing it. I have used the Bator non stop since Sept. It's never full but always has something in it. It is new so it's running perfectly as it should and very reliable. It's the electronic one so it pretty much runs itself. I do check the digital read regularly and at one point it couldn't get past 94* when we had that cold snap even though I kept the Tack room above 60* and I thought I got a lemon and would have to send it back. At the same time I noticed my Styrofoam bators for hatching were the same way so I moved them all up to the house and everything worked fine. Well, figured out I was overloading the circuit with Bators, heatlamps, heater (heater running full time with the cold outside) and instead of tripping the breaker everything just ran at low power. There weren't enough amps. Turns out a few days later everything in the tack room just shut off with out tripping the breaker and I found out I had burned up my outlet. All black and melted. It's outside in an outdoor box on a conduit but it freaked me out! Well, I then did my research so in case anyone needs this info a standard outlet has 10-15 amps, 220 volts and can handle 2200 watts. A standard red heat lamp is 250 watts but the heater pulled 1500 watts. And the length of the cord takes watts too. I'm not even going to say how many bators and heat lamps I had on with the heater. Too embarressing. That was really dumb. I guess I just thought the breaker would trip if I had too much on it. I got yelled at for that one. Ha, I told hubby it was his fault because he needs to get involved more. Just glad I didn't start a fire.

Our entire barn is like that, we have 2 big extension cords that run about 100 feet across the yard into the barn, and we and 2 bators, TV, computer, refridgerator and 1 heat lamp

DH is on the case though...and I have a smoke detector every 4 feet in here AND in every outbuilding coop....DH is running wire in conduit even as we wriet...FINALLY!

I did it. It's Gritsar's uppity rooster named after me Impy. And changed my signature. So the Gritty and Impy show is on the road again, having fun. Got Nifty to change the tile as well. Gritty can't complain after all it was her that gifted my GFM.

My DH and I used to both paintball...had a blast. you are buying for DS? If you are getting single shot (as compared to auto or semi-auto)...Tippman is a very dependable gun. Drag it in the dirt, dirt in the barrel, shake it off and keep shooting. My DH's favorite was a fully auto Tippman A-10. Tippman may be a bit more $$$$$, but they are way more dependable. There are definitely more that are even more $$$$$ but just there are cheaper also, and cheaper is not always better. Make sure to get a full-face mask (safety). aintball guns can take out eyes, teeth, etc.

Remind me later and I will try to upload the photo of my DH after a shot got past his helmet and his face mask and hit him in the forehead. He had a huge lump. We were pretty hard-core ..never say surrender. We used to have a blast.

I Highly recommend the Tipmann 98 ( I think they still make it). It is semi auto and very reliable.
And yes get a GOOD FULL mask for DS. Not trying to scare ya just want you to be aware, yes they can bring welts and trust me across the top of bald head just above the mask well lets just say it is just about enough to make the big alligator tears run down the inside of yer britches.

We live about 20 minutes away from Pt. Defiance. I LOVE Zoo Lights, but am embarrassed to say I haven't been in years. It always used to bring tears to my eyes it was so beautiful - and really helped to put me in a Christmas spirit. That just may be what I'm needing this year... With DH still down after his knee surgery, no Christmas decorations up yet, house is in chaos, I'm needing some motivation to get it together before my daughter comes home from WSU next weekend.
So yes, I agree - if you can make the trip to Tacoma, go see Zoo Lights - it's fantastic!

LOL I have to pay attention to the weather. Remember I work out in the weather no matter what its doing. Its my choice in profession, and I gotta care for all the critters properly! So why not give a heads up when nasty weather is rolling in? lol And the best part about it all is, that most of the time, when I read the weather, I gauge by how and what hurts on my body the most. And 90 percent of the time my body is more acurate than the weather service.

OK thats it Chickieladie! We need to plan a weekend trip to come down and go fishing with you! I havnt caught a darned thing sence my husband and I got to gether 6 years oag... Think this is at all possible?

Well sure, as long as the weather holds out and you have a license ?
If you have no license you will need to buy one and they expire in March...bummer.
The idea is to get a license when season opens !
We put in at So Bend usually (on the Willapa) and go out into the bay...and I am after crab next time too !
(Gotta see if it is crabby season out there yet)

We have 1 cuckoo marans, and a Blue Splash marans and a Blue Marans chick so far, and 3 more BBS Marans pipped and 2 Cuckoo Marans pipped.

We do have our license's, I also have my winter crab license. And we get them every season, even if we dont make it out more than 2-3 times...
