Growing up, my dad just about always worked on holidays. He worked for an airline, so they never stopped working. If he had the holiday off, it was because that's the day of the week he always had off. He did get paid double time and a half, though, so actually liked working the holidays. We were used to it and just did it on a different day near it. One year (1982), we lived in Denver and he got stuck at the airport over Christmas week because a blizzard, though... We missed out a little, but it really was a memorable Christmas that year...

Awesome work day despite the drizzly weather and DH gone

Got coops cleaned, added fresh straw...trying to keep Clarence, Abigail and Mildred off mud (I knew it would be a challenge, what with their giant feather slippers!)
And sold 4 Marans, and sold 1 Ameraucana and 1 Olive Egger....and my egg customers have not shown up yet today...hopefully soon as I have another 3 doz eggs for them...all in all a profitable 1/2 day so far....*sigh!* I miss DH...I had to freeze 3 loaves of bread/buns and rolls, and a bunch of food that willl just spoil without him here.
Sad Holiday, but I am glad he is going to get to the bottom of this poop going on down there.
In fact, I am going to tell him to relist the property with the realtor, enough waiting !
The interest rate is waaay down, it is time .

Hey, I am thinking of making Empanadas when DH gets home, and just wondering if any of you have good recipes...I have to use a gluten-free shell of course, but was wondering if JB or LaSombra have ever made them and if so what is the favorite filling recipe ?
I have seen pork (like a butt or shoulder roast) with red and green bell peppers and diced green chilis...but what about a crab or shrimp filling or roast beef ?
Now I am making myself hungrey!

It is cruel that everytime I get to talking with LaSombra we get into food!
Can you eat solif food yet and how is the diet going ?
I need to tone it down too...I would be skinny if not for that man.
He can eat !
He has such a fantastic metabolism, I do not know where it goes...into that Einstein brain he has...He could loose 10 pounds by missing a meal, it is not fair !

OK, let's hear some Empanada filling recipes...please !

otherwise i could not really focus to read all the other posts.

i do not understand how people can get addicted to oxycodone, (mine is a liquid) it makes you so sleepy. atleast this pain killer does not cause nausea
today my throat hurts more than yesterday, so keeping the pain killer doseages at full and every 3.5-4 hours...

amazingly my final grades for fall were good. A, B+,B,B+, C+. the Gpa was a 3.05. i was really happy considering how sick i have been.

the most depressing part about the surgery is that i see all this snow falling, but i cannot go skiing for a few weeks still. Sadness. I miss seeing my chickens too, but i am also put on antibiotics to prevent infection and i do not think it would be good for me to visit them atm.

Charlie (golden retriver) has been a couch potato with me along with Shasta (blond carin terrier), Sky is in his security place all day (black carin terrier, behind the toilet)
Charlie turns a year old on christmas. he was a xmas puppy. i love him.

ok i am going off for a while, trying to read hurts my eyes and is making my stomach feel bad....

I have Christmas eve off
Work Christmas day
Pay is 1x holiday (even if I did not work) and 1.5x work time so 2.5x pay which is good.

Yep, I can eat solid food now, since monday

Yesterday, my husbnd and I went to the Outback while christmas shopping and I got a filet with veggies. yum

So far, I've lost 14 lbs, so I'm happy

Had my tonsils taken out on the 21st.... now i have 2 big holes in the back of my throat. scabs feel weird and throat feels slimy too. but also that gag reflex thingy that hangs down is swollen and numb, feels weird having it hit my tongue all the time. parents said my surgery took 27 minutes. yeah i am home and cuddled on the couch with the dogs.
I have never had strep, never ever. had mono 2 years ago though, but this past year kept getting tonsilitis alot. the Dr. told my parents that my tonsils were "pitted, scarred and infected/rotten inside"
it takes about 2 weeks for inital recovery from surgery, then scabs start falling off and there is slight bleeding..... i will get to ski again in january sometime, hopefully before i head back to WSU.
