Had a big roo fight. Black Orpington roo that roosts on top of the 6 ' fence between him and the BCM must have flew into the wrong side in the morning (still need to put netting up in that one). Came out to see two depressed muddy, wet, bloody, eyes swollen shut roos in the morning. When I put the BO back on his side until I had a chance to doctor him the other BO roos decided they wanted a piece of him too. They decided since he was gone for part of the morning he is no longer part of the flock. Well, both the BCM and BO roo got a warm bath, washed off all the blood, put bag balm on their combs and put them in separate crates in the heated tack room over night to dry. Going to put the other BO roos in the layer pen for a week or so so the injured one can heal and get in good with the ladies, then try putting them back in. No problem in the BCM pen as he is the only roo in there. Funny, those roos get so insulted when you catch them up like you have damaged their ego but when they got in the warm bath they just melted into it. It felt so good. The BO almost fell asleep.

I can just see it.
Something really funny here is the stoooopid Cuckoo Marans Cock Bird...going back and forth and jumping up and spurring the fence wire until he is bloody and exhausted...at Clarence the Lemon Blue GIANT OLDER_THAN_DIRT COHIN that has 6" spurs....and Clarence is in a different pen, with a 20 foot X 20 foot paddock in between.

I used to dog crate him when he started this, not I just let him go...he needs to go in the freezer since I have so many nice feather shanked babies now.

I don't remember my grandma ever making chocolate beet cake. I think it is this multi generational American thing that is happening. It's all the genetics stirred and melted together.

Of course that strong dose of Norwegian doesn't seen to hurt much.

The best thing that happened this week, is when a plate of warm brownies was delivered to my front porch. They were from Evelyn. Okay my mother in laws first name is Evelyn, but these brownies were still warm. So I think of a fellow BYC member named Evelyn, but she lives in Missouri. so that was a clear I don't think so. Well there is one family on our street those names I still don't know, so maybe it was from them.

The brownies are fabulous. They are perfectly cooked and kind of fudgie, just the way I like my brownies. So DH looks at and asks if they are laced.

I don't know anyone that would do such a thing or think that it was even funny.

Soooo.......

Do you want to know who brought me the brownies?
