All my yuppie girlfriends eat it all the time and have it at parties and if it comes from the store it always tastes like a male goat smells. The only goat cheese I've been able to eat is fresh from a local goat dairy and when I milked goats and made cheese myself it was good. Maybe I just have weird taste.

She can't wait! She's already claimed a coop for them! I like how they just stuck around nearby the coops even though they had the whole yard to roam. As soon as I open the pen doors, my girls are all over the place! (My NH is a big hen, but the rest are not much larger than your banties.) The EE's and RIR tend to follow me wherever I go in the yard, but the others are off looking for the best piles of leaves and duff to dig through. If I get out a shovel and start digging in the garden though, they are all right there.

Part of it may be because they were just attacked by Coyotes and may still be a little shy to venture far. Though it's not like their coop was the safe place to be.

Anyone
think you may want to save up some of your eggs and go to the egg swap in Canby and see Cloverlef and a bunch of other Oregonians and swap eggs, and we could carpool...?
I could have my DH dump me and my box of eggs on the side of I-5 and hitch?
Cloverleaf says it is not so many eggs as alot of chicks and adult birds for sale also, and close to her place so there may be a party afterwards ??
Anyone interested please PM me and I can make a list.
Read her link above for details.
I would like to know what birds will be there...

ARGHHH! It's 45 degrees outside...bright blue sky, the sun is shining and I'm STUCK inside. The ice outside is melting like crazy so there's a layer of water over it...and it's just too darn slippery to go out.

I wanted to get a few of my pens cleaned out today and get some updated photos taken of some of them....

My mother in law just called. They are coming over. And they are bringing they're nasty little chicken eating dogs!

I told her the last time they brought those dogs over, that there WILL NOT be a next attack! I will not show any restraint if there is another attack on my birds. I hate hate HATE these dogs! Completely untrained, out of hand, pee's on EVERYTHING!!!

I already locked up all but one bird. That darned Silky just refuses to go back into the run... I will keep trying to get her in, but until then I will just pray that she stays in the fenced yard with my dogs. As my dogs will eat there little nasty chicken eating dogs! They don't like them any more than I do.

That stinks. My parents have a nasty little corgi/jack russell cross that has gone after my son on multiple occasions (his own fault, he won't leave it alone) and after it actually BIT him one time, I told my dad that his ******* dog is not welcome at my house. They have to drive 3 hours to get here, so she does come with them, but stays in their car, and if she needs a potty break, dad goes outside and keeps her on a leash, and then right back into the car. She is not allowed inside my home, or loose on my property.
Good luck.

Oh that would be awsome IF they used leashes! But my mother inlaw seems to think that keeping her dog on a leash is wrong, and cruel

Be back in a bit. Gotta run and feed some horses, then pick up my DH..

Buck rabbits do the same thing, but they just have a musky smell, not all that unpleasant.
I have never had bad goat cheese nor any goat cheese that smelled like a Billy Goat...I LOVE GOAT CHEESE and goat milk.
