OK y'all I'm exhausted. I need to lay down for a bit.

I will be back on tonight to compile a list of people and shirts.

I can't have anything that is too loud because I have a neighbor that would be a big problem over noise!

Ask the neighbor if the sound of the egg song is to loud would they prefer one of those yapping dogs that bark when a tree branch moves instead?
Enough is enough.
Some how people can keep dogs that bark all day but chicken noise is bad?

Not telling you to be mean but if we don't stand up for ourselves the idiots will be trying to control everything including the people in King County whom have no restrictions and it will only get worse.

Thumb is doing better than I thought it would. Sore, but not too bad. Just waiting to see if the nail is going to turn a bunch of different colors.

I so agree with you Greg. The level of control is becoming overwhelming. I know that while I don't want be annoyed by constant noise, that there will be times when noise happens. I can remember having a neighbor that complained because one day the little boys were playing in the street (cul-de-sac) with a wagon. The neighbor was upset because they were making a little noise. It was less than an hour in the middle of the day. There is a point when people are to critical of everything. I would have understood if the kids played like that all day every day. But maybe an hour in the middle of the day, and it wasn't like the kids were screaming either.

I think that the ones that complain are often the ones with major control issues. It's sad when these people can control everyone else around them.

Soo... Hypothetically speaking and not naming any names... Say someone got a little Brinsea incubator, and say they found some interesting eggs to purchase to hatch in said incubator, but they were limited by city or county codes as to how many chickens they could keep - is there any harm in maybe keeping one or two that one might favor, and then either selling or giving away the rest? Just so that, hypothetically speaking of course, that they could try hatching and raising a few chicks just for the experience? Would that be ethical, fair and kosher to do in the chicken world?

I believe that most animal control laws allow for breeding. So I can have more dogs than allowed as long as the litter is under a certain age. The same applies for all babies. So you can hatch as long as you can find homes for the chicks. It is one of those grey areas. As long as you have a clean healthy situation Animal control will leave you alone for the most part. I think that it is when the smell becomes bad enough that a person living in it no longer can smell it that things get a lot more fractious. It would also be very difficult for anyone to know that you were raising chicks at your home also.
