Well let me know when you all will be headed this way, and we can meet up! I do work 7 days a week, but thats only mornings and a short while in the afternoons. lol I'm free the rest of the days. That is unless my DH is home, then my schedule is ALL messed up. lol Funny how that works!

Oh man. You make 25* sound nice! Glad the suns out for you, even though it is deceiving. I woke up to 17* weather at 5am, so it has warmed up almost 10 degrees...

Pffftt=--25 is t-shirt weather over here!

The wind seems to have calmed down for now. My geese are now moving around a little bit and flapping their wings in the sunshine and the Muscovies have ventured out of their shelters. My chickens are all still locked in the coops though....probably until Sunday.

From what you described I would say bobcat or cougar. You need to be VERY careful going out there in the dark. Bobcat would probably scare off. On the other hand if it was cougar it could have been still there watching you. Personally I would not nor would I recommend going out there unarmed. Most critters will scare off prety easy but cougar don't fall into the most catagory. DW's nephew had a near face to face (they were about 6-8' apart) with one here in Dec. And he said that kitty was not very happy. For what it's worth they say cougar is some of the best tasting meat. Yes people eat them.

Tastes like chicken! Really... I'm serious!

lol But honestly, your area is just to darn cold for me. My hat would be off to yah if I wore one. lol

My girls never once stayed in the coop, they want out no matter what the weather is. I thought for sure that at least the silky would stay hidden inside, but nope. Snow rain wind, they want out, and NOW! lol Goofy birds. They are much more resiliant than I am thats for sure!
