There is a solid hard shelled egg inside this .....papery wrinkled layer! So bizarre! In the last two photo's you can see a tear in the outer paper wrapping and see the whole egg that is inside.

This definently classifies as our wierdest egg ever. And the hen seems fine.........hopefully she stays fine! I'll be keeping my eye on her!

No, I don't think the outer layer was hard when it was laid. The round end has grown hard now after it has dried out. The crumpled pointy end is still damp. It kind of feels like a wet paper bag. DH and the kids went to a 4-H meeting tonight. I want to wait until they get home and then I want to unwrap it!!!

Looks like she tried to bag your groceries!
That is wierd! One of my Wyandottes laid a softshell this week. Not sure if it is the same Wyandotte that gave me the meat spot.

Just shipped yesterday

There is no way I'm going to be able to let them rest overnight before putting them in the bator. I'm 100% sure they'll be unpacked, dusted with fairy pullet dust, and put right in the Genesis.

Still working on getting photos of the pup. . . Totally forgot to do it today, was caught up in the news. He's had his shots and all now, but I really don't think I'll get anything from the breeder. He's the top breeder in South Africa, well respected, has amazing dogs, and had amazing communication with us until we paid him. . . Then from there on things went drastically downhill. At least we got a puppy, the one we paid for, but. . . I'm rather upset.

He's a Boerboel. A South African Mastiff.

I have 2 questions

what is a meat spot?

I am planning on getting a barred rock a easter egger, a cochin, and 2 silkies I was sort of planning on getting the slkies at the show if there are any and the rest from the co-op. Should I just get them all from the co-op? I really cant have any roosters. what are your thoughts?

Sorry about your dog Illia. Hope he gets better soon.

Rare Feathers, that was a twist at the end. Lol!

WA4-Hpoultrymom, saw your thread about the egg. It's one for the books.
