When we built our house, we had our builder build one for us - he bought the springs, but we found many of the kit parts looked ugly, so he built a base that we rest it on when it is open, and when we have it up in the wall, it stores underneath and looks like a drawer. No ugly brass legs on my cabinet that look odd when the bed is up. Ours is nice - I love the thing - it is in our livingroom/library/guestroom. Vey convenient - unexpected guests, just pull down the handle and instant bed, already made up! I'll see if I can find a camera and take photos to show what we did in place of the legs.

I would LOVE to see it.
I want one in here in our little cabin...10 X 16 is sooo small!
I do not believe you need either springs or pulleys, a good heft & it should go up & lock via hasp hinges.

GOOD FIND GREG!!! I would like those for my future art studio...but we have zero storage room, but when we build our house that is exactly what I want for quilt fabric storage & art supplies.
I like the clear doors, so you can see everything but it will not get dusty.

OMG Japan!!!!!

Man, childhood stomping grounds Santa Cruz got it bad too.........only the rich yachts though...we have a warning for dangerous tidal surges right now, coming into Willapa Bay & up the river, supposed to continue for tonight & tomorrow as there has been so many, many BIG aftershocks.
The Willapa was really low this morning, way too low (clue) then a surge of incoming tide was FAST!
Then back out low again...it is not waving over the roads or anything, just coming in & back out at outrageous speeds.

I wish I was down there. Sounds stupid I know, but I love watching things like that. Its a good thing I didnt stay in South dakota, or I would'a wound up chasing storms. lol

I remember being out at Copalis crossing, on the coast, and watching massive storms roll in off the ocean. We would always stay WAY back in the high dunes when we knew a big one was rolling in. Storm surges move in quikly, and wipe everything out to sea just as quikly. But I loved it then and I love it now.

The first batch of shirts are done.
It is not professional, but not too too bad for what we spent.
