CCG: I have the assorted brass leg bands, fits any size bird, and am bringing them to the show early Friday if you need a band.

How old do the chicks need to be befor banding them? when I pick up the chicks from you Cl, I'm kinda leaning torward banding them. That way when I hatch out another batch of W/BW's I can tell who is who. That and I want a different line of cockeral, so would be good to be able to tell the two different lines of cockerals apart.

What would you sudgest?

Yankee Candles has already made a fresh cut grass candle. I think it was called Green Grass. Don't know if they still make it. It's one of my two very favorites along with the Wild Cherry.

I have ordered my incubator. I'll be searching for some Marans and Welsummer eggs for dark brown as well as Araucana or Ameraucana or EE for blue eggs. I don't need SQ - just friendly girls (and a roo or two) for eggs to eat and share. I showed dogs (Bichons) for almost 20 years and I know it's LOTS of work. I'm enjoying my free time now so I will just be hangin' out and visiting with my girls.

Llooks like 20 hatched and are all healthy running around. Floated a few. 1 died midterm and 1 died trying to pip...I think I may have opened the bator too many times

. Then 4 were infertile. The 12 left are possibly viable so I'm leaving them in till tonight. If nobody's bobbing then I'll crack them open and give you the verdict on how your guys did

So yesterday was day 8. I candled but could only see through two eggs. But those two both have veining. So I will just leave them alone for another 9 days, check again, and lock them down. Ive had to refill the one water well, every 3 days so far. My power has been flickering, so I took 4 of my crystal spheres "same size as golf balls," heated them up, and stuck them in the incubator, as a just in case messure. The longest our power has gone out was 3 hours... So I have the incubator in the most draft free spot, "my closet" surrounded by clothes on hangers. So lots of insulation, no drafts to speed any cooling, and with the heat sink stones... I'm hoping that all goes well.

I'd love to go to a show on saturday but I work 6days a week so I don't get to leave off anywhere very often

Sad times. Keep me posted on more shows though! I keep getting promised that the next 2months I'll get a sat/sun weekend. Fingers crossed

you can make your own powdered sugar--take regular sugar and process it to a powder in a food processor.
smile.png
I have done that in a pinch and it works fine.... I haven't read back to why the regular powdered sugar was bad in the first place but I hope that you can use that info anyway..

ALSO--- I will bring all extra 'Rama eggs I have. You guys can split them up however you want.

Blueducklings~fish sauce is ok not on my plate.

If it's in something already, and I can't smell or taste it then that's fine too--ignorance is bliss you know! lol! We were at pho for lunch and there was fish sauce in the bottle on the table...

o man is that stuff STRONG smelling. I am not a generally picky eater as it is appearing. really really. I love salmon and halibut and most fish in general ~ cooked..

And doesn't Thai do peanut sauce? I love peanut sauce. yum. There is an excellent Thai place in Enumclaw-- they use so many fresh veggies, it's delish. zgoatlady have you eaten there??

Yes I love the place. Im trying to find rice paper so I can make the one dish at home.

I can bring you some if you are looking for the transparent stuff they make vietnamnese spring rolls out of.
You have to dip it in a pan of hot water, then quickly put it on your plate to wrap stuff in.
Like a see through burrito.

I have to admit, I was apprehensive-my friends are goofy, and like to play jokes on me--as they know how I am about crustaceans and sushi. Would you believe one night we all went out (hubby's too) to the Indochine in downtown Tacoma, we ordered family style and along comes the mahi mahi (that's the seared tuna right??) anyway--they didn't tell me it was RAW in the middle. awww as soon as it was in my mouth--that texture.. ich. OUT it came. I should have known because they all stopped eating to watch me. Meanie heads--needless to say they ALL thought it was funny. SO i get nervous when they pick places like that. But the place in Enumclaw--I'll go back for sure! it was great. Do you get up to Fed Way?? They have that huge Asian market-- H mart -- I am sure they would have rice paper there. I used to eat crab, if the whole cracking process was out of sight--but same friends--they made me crack my own once and that was that. Big ol' half spider sitting on the table. blech. lol!!

I used to sell PL candles many moons ago, and guys used to joke about making Man Candles--so funny that someone is doing it finally!!

I love H mart! All the cool food

But you know, Slaveway & Albertsons carry rice paper in the Asian sections. I was to like the Korean BBQ place across from H mart and the smell there is wonderful.
You grill your own food at the middle of your table. YUM.
Before H amrt, I use to go to Paldo World. Good as well, but my fav place in Fed Way is Daiso.
It is inside the commons and it sells thing from japan...all items are $1.50

Love it.
I use to stay next to Wild Waves. lol.
