Yes, it's Omak and yes, they open at 7am. Which is the same time I have to be at work. Luckily, I'm one of only three people there on Fridays so I'll be calling first thing in the morning to see what's up.

One (slightly) reassuring thing is that my MIL says if it was something really serious they would have left a message to call the clinic back as soon as possible or told me to go to the ER.

Not really. I have a water softener...very hard water. I am on a well. Wonderful tasting water, but hard.

Im on a well too and the water is bad , didnt know what hard water was until I moved here.. My sinks and show and tolet are all red.

4 days in a row now I have 10 eggs from 11 birds. Everyone but the BCM, unless the BCM lays ordinary brown eggs and I'm missing it because I am expecting something dark.

I was not in the back when she took the egg out, she had gloves on, the vet is a tiny thing with tiny little fingers and she just reached in like with pinchers and pulled it out. I think it was very close to coming out and it was like she, Amelia, just ran out of fluids to move the egg along.

It was totally LUCK that I even noticed it. Last night she bedded down in the little girl's pen. I picked Amelia up, one hand holding the front, back hand hold the rear and the back of her abdomen felt funny. I came in the house and did some research. She was acting totally fine. I think I found her just as she started to have problems. She was not stressed or depressed or down. She was eating like a horse....but when I put the water down she drank like a fish....she was thirsty. Like I said, I think the BR bitties have been picking on her and had kept her away from the water. Multiple water bowls now. I have read that BCM are not "prolific" layers (they only had like 3 eggs out of 5 on the chart). I got them because they are so pretty. I, personally, don't mind everyone not laying every day. In fact I think none of my birds lay every day....kind of goes 2 and then 3 and then 2 and then 3. They switch off. I dunno....just a guess.

I just learned this the hard way. Neighbor down the road has been sexually harassing me (basically) and I always just "laughed/brushed" it off. I was NOT CLEAR with my boundaries, I did not tell him that this was not appropriate. Well, he finally happen to be at my place of work in his city uniform in his city truck and he waited until all were gone and did it again...I walked away. DH made me go and report him (the right thing to do). Creep. He has not come anywhere near me....I told the police officer (his boss) that I gave the report to that this guy had better not come over to my house and bug me or my kids...that I have a baseball bat, knife, gun....and I know how to use them. I think I finally made myself clear.
