Homeless with bed bugs and kids?
sad.png

-sigh- bed bugs do not discriminate between the rich and the poor. generally the poor tend to have a level of hygene that the bugs love. the table the patient sits on is fine but the chair the guests sit in could have them hiding in it because the only thing cleaned on those are the arm rests.....

i am also convinced that the bed bug outbreaks follow the circuit of drug houses.... (you had to see the map) so far the only place on the West coast with confirmed cases are in the same apartment complex in LA.... WA has not had any reports yet.

Thank God we have cleaner druggies here in WA !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I was just wondering what kind of roo that is on your avatar? Looks like a big boy!

It's actually a black bantam cochin roo, so not all that big. We don't have that roo anymore, I should probably change it!

Scale is hard to see on comps. But he does look like he was a handsome guy!

Go to radio shack, buy a computer fan, and get 4 wine corks, cut to 1/2 "..drill holes in them as legs, with long thin bolts & nuts, attach the fan in the fan spot..then connect to a voltage reducer thingy (a box on the end of the cord that plugs in the wall.
Ask the radio shack guy for the reducer thingy needed for the exact voltage the fan uses..I will take photos of mine, when I can outside as it is in storage.
The bolts go through the 4 corners of the fan, through a cork 'foot' and up through the top of the incubator, washer & bolt on the top (outside) so the cork 'foot' provides a space where air can get in to the top of the fan, and blow down, make sure it is blowing down, not up.
So the fan, with the cork feets, look like a table, get it?
A fan cannot be mounted against the incubator celing as it cannot get any air that way.
You can also use 4 slices of wooden towel for feet, drill holes for the bolts to go through.
The computer fan fits the exact spot in a little giant, where the little giant fan fits, and cost is way way less than buying a little giant fan.

thanks Cl make's since, but the fan should blow away from the eggs as to not dry them out. Thats what Ive always heard..

Mine blows down, right on a margarine dish with water, pulling the heat with it.
There is also a hole, plugged with a red plastic cork on the lid, and the fan is installed underneath it.
At lockdown they say to open both red plugs.
I only open one all the way and the fan one halfway .
We originally installed the fan blowing up, and of course all it did was blow all the heat & humdity right out of the hole.

So then we read the directions, and turned it around..the dish of water under the fan produces the perfect amount of humidity..no sponge.
No wire in the bottom either, just paper towels & lay the eggs down, fan blows on the margarine cup of water also prevents chicks from getting into the fan.
The little giant is really too shallow!
I also added a circle of hardware wire around the margarine cup under the fan,,I was afraid someday a chick would fall in the water.
So, this works really well.

put it on its side than you get to watch it roll around. Dont feel bad I do it still with my dark eggs.

I have done it 2X with my dark eggs cuz sometimes they are so round...after 17 days upside down, I lockdown on their sides and it hatched just fine.

Het wanted to add, I think DIY or maybe it was Denniselk said you could glean a computer fan from your recycle center or landfill...probably for free, need a screw driver set & tear apart and old tower..
No sign of T here yet..hope she is OK.
I am going back outside in the sun!!!!!!!!!!!

It is so round, I couldn't tell which end was which. I moved it with out opening the hatcher(thanks to the gloves in the side of the box idea) and will hope for the best. Thanks Z and CL!
