-sigh- bed bugs do not discriminate between the rich and the poor. generally the poor tend to have a level of hygene that the bugs love. the table the patient sits on is fine but the chair the guests sit in could have them hiding in it because the only thing cleaned on those are the arm rests.....
i am also convinced that the bed bug outbreaks follow the circuit of drug houses.... (you had to see the map) so far the only place on the West coast with confirmed cases are in the same apartment complex in LA.... WA has not had any reports yet.
We saw it in a patient at our office. They had travelled to the E Coast
eta: I should clarify that the parasite was not on the person, they brought it in a glass container as they saw it on their bed.
Well, I got home tonight and went out to check on the ladies. I put the younger two pullets in with the big girls and I placed about 4 different feeding/watering stations. All are fine.
My 13 eggs are in lockdown. We will see what happens.
Went into coop to collect eggs...guess what.....
I had 2...YOU HEARD ME...2 BCM eggs. Both of my beautiful BCM ladies are laying. I think Tyson (my bantam roo) is really liking these big girls. Both of the BCM ladies are doing well.
Question: I have some BR girls that are feed store chicks (last year). One of them lays an almost white egg. What is up with this?
Well, this is the latest from my house. Now to read all the thread and catch up.

OH, okay, now I understand. I thought you were worried about the worms in your compost, or something. The compost will actually put off heat...helps them to stay warm. I used to raise worms (for fishing) under my rabbits.

Well, Cheryl, I cannot answer this with an educated answer. I would only answer with what I do....my chickens are spoiled. I cook them oatmeal. I cook them spaghetti noodles (worms). I buy loaves of bread, just for me girls, that the DH and DD can sit in the yard and feed them, by hand.

Hey, I was just wondering what kind of roo that is on your avatar? Looks like a big boy!
It's actually a black bantam cochin roo, so not all that big. We don't have that roo anymore, I should probably change it!
Well, I think he is beautiful. My black bantam cochin hen is the one that went broody and hatched out some BR eggs for me. She is so funny to watch her as a momma....she is a good mommy. She adopted the 3 sex-links that i bought.
Can anyone tell me exactly what sex-link means? I think this means Mutt? Am I correct? I don't care. DD picked them as she thought they were cute and fuzzy. but the curiosity is killing me.

CL: You have not been in the Okanogan area in a while have you......
