Yep it is on the West side of the island, directly across the sound from the only store in Olalla.

I lived in Lisabeula for a few months when i lived on Vashon. the old Norwegian couple were so good to me and my kids when we were "between homes" in the old hippy days. Used to picnic there all during the 16 years I spent on the Island. Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't move back "home". Miss the water. Spent most of my life either on the water or in sight of it.
Oh well, now I have lots of trees and a beaver pond. not bad

The couple was Ralph and Olga Berg. I loved them; they were like grandparents to me. Their home always smelled so good. The fire was always stoked with driftwood, and the smell of Ralph's pipe tobacco. There was something special about those smells. There will be always a sense of being home there for me. My parents moved to the larger caretaker's house about October of 1959. I was just a few months old. I think that we only lived there a fairly short time, before my parents move into a house at the top of the hill just above the ferry dock on the north end of the Island. I still consider Vashon Island my home. My family moved from the Island in January 1973. I would love to live back on the Island. My DH has pretty much said that he doesn't ever want to live there. I love the smell of the beach and water.
The old resort is no longer accessible by anyone. It private property and heavily marked with no trespassing signs. I would love to go back and see the area. I don't think that any of the cottages exist anymore. I think the dock is also long gone.

4312 you have very photogenic chicks. They are adorable.

Haller your little guy is quite the stud muffin.

CR I hope that sales will be booming tomorrow.

It sounds like everyone has really enjoyed the show this weekend.

I wish I could have made it. It just wasn't in the cards this time. I did get a little bit of top soil moved, and I got the lawn mowed. So at least I didn't waste the day.

Well I think I am going to turn in now. Maybe I will turn into a pumpkin tonight.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the show, but I did go to the Polish bazaar and got my pierogi fix, so the day wasn't wasted.

Hi everyone! I was at the show all day yesterday, but I seem to have missed everyone. I'll be there this morning though, so maybe I'll see all of you.

Hi I am in the Exhibit hall down by the big glass windows with the bright light shining in. I have all th metal work. Stop by and say hi.

Well of course when it is time to go home the sun comes out !!!!! Yes It is beautiful here today sunny and no wind. Well at least I can look forward to not getting soaking wet while loading later.

And for future reference. The little Mexican place in Stevenson has decent food and prices. And is just a short distance from the show.

My Polish was Res. Ch. AOCCL and Rob's duck was Res. Ch. Waterfowl in the youth show. That's about all we did but we were happy- we were in august company-some of those youth birds from CA were amazing. You may all be interested to know there is a small group attempting to resurrect the May Chehalis show. They plan to have their show at the Centralia fairgrounds the last Saturday in May- Memorial Day weekend. It is supposed to be a small show "just for fun." They were gathering awards yesterday and Chehalis is only 45 minutes from me, so I figure I'll grab a few Polish and come- though I did tell my mother just before I left, "Don't worry Mom, this is the last show until the fairs...." Maybe a little bitty one won't really count.

Yahoo that would be fun I am in Rochester and would love to come play at the chicken show. Any idea if it is official I missed this show and the last because i forgot what day it was on.
