Had to put my pretty little Blue Wyadotte down this morning.

She just wasn't recovering from what ever infection got in her head. She started to get worse over the last few days. Actually to be honest my DH did it because I was crying too hard and just couldn't. I am such a softie! It would have been a little different if it had been a mean nasty roo or something, but she was the sweetest of all my babies. R.I.P Sky.

Okay, if we are going to be doing the hatch buddy stuff....I just set 28 Orpington eggs in my Brinsea 20 Eco yesterday. can I join in? On my first hatch I did have to refill the reservoirs every 3-4 days to keep the humidity up. This will be my second hatch. I am excited.

Yeay for hatch buddies! lol

I am setting eggs tomorrow (close enough?) in a Brinsea Octagon 20. Can I join in? It's my first hatch since I was a kid.

Beets are radical dye, and then you can make Swedish Beet and Potato Salad with eggs instead of pickled herring.

The peacock-ish looking bird in Mike's mind-blowing photos is a Himalayan Monal/ Impeyan Pheasant; I've spent hours over the years looking at the one at Woodland Park Zoo and being boggled by its gorgeosity.

Ok Ive decided to try and sell some of these Blue/Black Ameraucana chicks, also the Olive eggers if anyone is interested. I have 5 blue black Ameraucana, and 4 Olive eggers. Now I do not know how to tell the cockerals from the pullets, so they are stait run only. They are all cute as can be and very active. Chickielady has some nice birds, who produce just as nice babies!
