What's going to be tricky is the wheels; maybe skateboard trucks would work? The dog wheelchairs I've seen had a triangular tube frame with a rip stop nylon sling and 10" bicycle wheels on a swivel axle, but they were for taller dogs

I would have to do some MAJOR raising of the sling, if I was to use skateboard wheels... Im thinking I will try to use the 6" wheels off of DD's broken push tryke. I did find one that wheelchair that is made out of PVC pipe and fittings. looks really lightweight, and sturdy once everything is glued together.

For some reason I ten to be the person that my family comes to when they need something odd built. lol So far so good. hey if I can build a dog wheelchair, then maby with sturdier parts, I could build a pony cart! lol

Is he very heavy? There are a BUNCH of 'em listed on ebay. Maybe you could modify some of those pics and come up with something out of PVC (sturdy) or aluminum tubing and padded velcro straps? Maybe the back part of an old tricycle frame so he could put his little feets on the cross piece? This one is PVC and looks like roller blade wheels as an example...

Wow. That's pretty common with dachs, and just such a shame. They're such loyal little guys... I hope your sister can make it work.

Good Luck!

We've all been pulling for him. She was going to have him put down, until I found a chyropractor who works on dogs, for $20 per adjustment. Then the chyorpractor fell in love and volunteered his services for free! What an awsome thing for a total stranger to do! We have seen improvements with Capone so far, and he is in very good spirits, but seems confused as to why his back end doesnt work. but hey! he is no longer in any pain, and is off all pain meds.

Capone weights 13 pounds, he's a large mini doxie, makes my 8 pound mini doxie look teeny tiny! It is very common, and the older they get, the more likely they are to suffer these problems.

I found this one that I think I might try. All I need is the PVC, I already have a properly fitted harness, all sorts of padding, vet wrap, wheels, axcle, ect.

I see my spell check has gone missing again... Grr.

I dont see it as disrespectful at all. As I call the woods my church. Im of the mindset that, "Why do I have to go to a MAN made building to be with my god/dietys?" A man made structure is not what I need or want to be close to my beliefs, but I tend to be an oddball, and have chased off missionaries by asking them that same question. And I have yet to have someone be able to explain why a building is the only thing that should be called a church...

Sorry if I offend anyone, its just my way, and I understand whats right for me is not right for all.

So, I'll put in my 2 cents in hopes that it is just to clarify and not to offend! I respect everyone here and their beliefs and would never purposely hurt anyone.

"Church"(according to the Bible) is not a building. Church is defined as a group of people. 1 Corinthians 12:13,14
Church was (and should be) just people getting together to learn about what God has done for us through his Son Jesus Christ and to praise and thank Him for that.
We(the church) are also supposed to be a support system for each other. Life is hard and we need each other to vent to, ask questions of, and just to tell us we are loved and appreciated and missed when we are not around.
The building is only for convenience. Man has turned it into something it was never meant to be.

I do believe that that in order to support one another that you should meet regularly (Hebrews 10:25) but it should not be about "duty or obligation"; it should be because you want to.
Sorry if I have offended anyone, it was not my intent to do so.

Now,unless someone has Q's, I'll shut-up about it!

I think it's gorgeous, myself (and far better of what a PK of my acquaintance- not the one I'm married to, I have a whole set- called "Sunday worship at St. Mattress"). There are some things so implicitly delightful and happy-making that they can only be holy: to your example I would add kittens chasing flying ants, baby calves or horses or goats racing to nowhere, and Bassett Hounds running.

You guys are so RIGHT ON!! And as for the DGOW which I have known my share as a used to be bartender at several VFW's ask her what her God thinks about drowned herself in booze!!! lol! we all know bunches of hypocrites ! I just love the part about watching the little ones, cause, you know God made em and they are just being what they are!!
COOL!

I was the most HORRIBLE "hostess" in the world...even if it were for just a few minutes. I didn't even offer to let them use my restroom....

We loaded the fence, chatted for a few and I said....I realy got to go get some lunch and run. Did I offer them a glass of water? NO! bathroom? NO! I felt so bad after they left. Worst, worst hostess ever.

It's cool! we had fun with what little time we had and as a former vet tech I'm used to animals mauling me!! LOL Besides we had to stop and refuel anyway!! Silly girl!! I think the fact that it bothers you is evidence enough that had we had time we would have had a lot of fun!! Be ok!!

When my MIL came home from work one day she found her cocker on the floor paralyzed. A big oil painting had slipped off the wall and hit his back. They did surgery and he made a 99.9% recovery. It was just amazing! I hope her guy does too! It's just so hard to keep them down and quiet!

He's been such a good boy. My sister has gone back and forth on wether or not to put him down, but he is just SO very happy, no longer in any pain, and the entire family is helping him along, that she just doesnt have it in her to let him go. SO here I sit, looking at plans for a K-9 wheelchair! never thought I woul have to make one, but I am happy to try!

King is my absolute favorite! Just planted one in our orchard last year.

I've got six (I think, haven't counted lately) 90 year old ones. The darned^ squirrels and starlings have built nests in the limbs and they're breaking up; nobody has had time to prune them since the seventies. Most of the apples go to the cattle, which is all to the good, but with the weather this unspring I doubt we'll have many this year.

How old do you think mine are? Not as old as yours I expect.

What a thoughtful person you are even to try!
