Um no he doesn't. I am thinking I'll just slip her into the tack shed (he NEVER goes in there). That way, she will be pretty far away from everyone else and I'll be able to quarantine her--she is NPIP but I still don't want to take any chances....and then I'll slip her into a bantam bin (I have one empty one right now)....and then I'll pretend like I've had her for a while and see if he notices.

I have to do this now because once the kid leaves that's living with us (which is less than a month away, not that I'm counting!

) then DH will be taking over the feeding/watering....especially the bantam bins because I just can't climb up and feed/water/grab eggs like I used to be able to.

Oh and she's coming Express mail--which from MA will probably mean 2 days. Maybe three...

Wow! She's gorgeous! I can't see paying that much for one bird, but then I have no room to talk. I bought a baby llama when I was pregnant.

That's good. I wish mine could pay - even when I count only food, I'm deeper in the hole each month. I'm up to 45 chickens, but only 8 or 9 are laying, the others are too young, wrong sex, or broody.

This is getting to be as expensive as beading, and my chicken collection takes up a lot more room than my bead collection.

....and then there is all that fabric from when I used to sew, and all those quarters from when I tried to quilt ... I'm bad.

Sounds like ya need a new menu at yer house. Our menu reads "slackers its whats for dinner" When egg production drops I just leave a copy of the menu laying out in the coop.

I bought that Max Grow feed you recommended, the birds love it! The youngsters make a bit of a mess with it.

How long have them been? Like when was the hatch now or yesterday?

My official hatch date is tomorrow. Today 3 weeks ago was day 0. I have almost half hatched now. I am keeping the laundry room light on to keep them somewhat awake... i chew out my bf who checks on them then turns off the light.... i think he is more excited and can't leave them alone worse than me.... but then i have been surviving without strong pain meds today because i finally reacted to the codeine despite being on anti-nausea meds....

Cleaned out the hole in my mouth... my jaw hurts less having the infection rinsed out... i think one of the sticthes fell in and started to decompose.... the other stitches are still hanging in.

On tv right now (waiting for Charlie to dry off from his outside adventure) and a show about Cupcakes is on tv... how can you eat those? the cake wars are worse. i don't see how those are edible. i watched Iron Chef America earlier... i am seriously thinking of challenging my mom and then testing it as an off the cuff outdoor cooking challenge every few weeks in leavenworth (feature local produce available)

I'm hungry but i have just spent 20 minutes cleaning my teeth... undo it all?
