Spiders in my house - die. I figure (in my small mind) that they have had the comforts of warmth and cushy and fresh food from inside....so if I let them free outside....they will just come in. I tell everyone I have a tiny little sign at spider level (whatever level that may be) to stay out or else (input skull and cross bones here). Inside spiders die. Outside spiders (who follow the rules) live.

ETA: Glad you found the culprit

My thoughts exactly!!! They still have to follow the rules outside! #1 being- don't get on me!!!

When I moved out on my own for the first time I rented a basement apartment. Before too long I noticed a good sized spider has set up residence in a corner of my living room and I left it saying it was my pet spider, mostly because I was too afraid to kill it. Soon after that though, I was gone for the weekend and when I returned found out it had invited all of it's friends. It was like a horror film - everywhere I looked there was another spider. I was killing them left and right, screaming the entire time. One of the more giant spiders actually reared up at me just before I terminated it. Still gives me shudders.
After a few months of living in constant terror I walked into my tiny bathroom that you could barely turn around in, and a spider had hatched eggs in there - my walls were covered in 100's of baby spiders hanging off of the walls by their little parachutes. That was more than I could handle. I moved very soon after that.

The 14th was the last back up day for my Sandhill order, paid for in December.
All back up shipment dates have gone by with no response.
Since it is Thursday, I am gonna sit on the phone until someone there answers it this time!!!!!!!!!!!!
They need to tell me what is going on and make arraigments to ship (and apoplogize) or refund my money!!!!!!!!!!!!
Applesauce is not a sufficient word here !

My worse word is CANNED PEACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted the chicks shipped on the first designated date of MAY 3rd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
somad.gif

Since then, back up ship dates of May 17, May 31, and June 14 have come & gone with NO RESPONSE from Sandhill AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!

The biggest reason I stopped setting eggs so that I would have brooder room for the Sandhill chicks that have never arrived...and have lots of people looking for brown egg layers, but I have none now....I was expecting Sandhill chicks !!!!!!!!

See how this has lost me money???????
So NOW I have the meaty shipment & 1 more hatchery shipment coming from McMurray..and if Sandhill ships NOW, there will be NO BROODER ROOM !!!!!!!!!!
I will have to have their chicks in a card board box somewhere...........

Dang !!!!!!!!!!
Well, I am off to get some errands done, and later I will sit on the phone calling Sandhill.

Both gorgeous birds!

I caught a big fat rat in my rat zapper by the coops overnight. This guy was so big I had to give the zapper a few good shakes to get the thing out! Brown rat, white belly, big round ears, though this rat did not have a very long tail - blunt end like it had been chopped off. I chucked it over the fence into the woods.

Did it have a hairy tail ?
That would be a packrat, common in Eastern WA & OR, have not seen many on the wet side.
Ours here are black, and have short noses & big round ears.
They want no part of any bait we have tried lately, including peanut butter or the chocolate frosting we had luck with last year.
We are going to try veggies next, our rats must be a herbivore type.
DH wants to try frozen peas....

That's a good price. In Yakima, eggs sell for 2.50 a doz.

My daughter in law says they sell for $6 a dozen at the farmers market here.
