Oh, that give me an idea! sabbatoge! no, just kidding. I did think about saving up some weed seeds and letting them 'blow' in. That will keep them real busy! Could never really do it though. I just gotta let it go. I was quite amazed by my eldest son. When he heard about it he told me "mom, things happen for a reason". I do believe that is the first adult thing I've heard him say in a long time. I'm going by that and that one where 'When one door closes, another door opens'. All is well, just scared about trying to make up the income. We might just go on a diet of eggs. Like Bubba in Forrest Gump. How many ways can you fix an egg! Hopefully even more ways than shrimp!

That sucks.
I hope you'll find accounts that appreciate the care you put into their land.
Most big companies posion our land, and seem to like to hack off the plants into tiny balls. ???

Yes, I maintained that property organically. I cringe when I watch those big companies at work. Most the employess are not really trained professionals and they do a lot more damage than good. The owners are never around. They just send the crews out. I hate it when they 'polar' the trees in the store parking lots. There are ways to trim and shorten without stumping the poor tree. I will never undertand that.

Romulus Black (missing a few feathers from an encounter with a dog).

Serius and Romulus are both sweet boys, getting friendlier all the time. I wish the camera could do justice to their gorgeous green irridescent feathers. I may be willing to sell Romulus, but for right now, everyone is getting along, so I am keeping him for the short-term.

OE Cockeral ... this guy is FREE, just come and get him! He's not mean, but he's flighty, and I am not particularly attached to him since he lacks the ability to make my breakfast.

This is an Austrawhite that I bought from the Issaquah Grange. Not the pullet I was hoping for. I think, though am not certain that she is a he. If it is a he, he is FREE. You just gota come get him.

But at least my Lilacs are in full bloom, so it smells wonderful, and soon the Wysteria will also be in peak bloom:

That is a nice brooder!! it's funny cause my BF keeps thinking of better brooders to build!! I just use a tote for the first few days no biggie!Last night he was out till almost 11 putting together a brooder, ( he will finish tonight maybe) he said he wants to put washable wall, (shower board) a sliding tray insert for easy cleaning and a wire bottom and top!!! This coming from a guy who was scratching his head when the incubator came in!! LOL well what ever makes him happy eh?? works for me!! right now he's trying to figure out how to make a metal pan ( like a dog crate) that can slide in the brooder and he was going to put wheels on it!! so you can move it around to clean!! Anyway, I will take pics when it's done and see how far we actually got on it, all I see is $ signs, for me it doesn't have to be elaborate, just functional and keep the babies, safe warm and dry!!

There is a place for salal. It was planted in this landscape mixed with some nice ornamentals and it has run underground and come up lots of places it was not planted therefore is a nightmare. It's a contant battle to keep it trimmed away from the nicer plants as it comes up through them, much like ivy. I like it in it's place but should not have been planted in that landscape.
