Anyway when I left practice in 04 I made a whopping 11 dollars an hr!!

I left in 2006? at $16/hr. Still not a livable wage in the city...
Unfortunate. Much easier to keep active than in human med- I sit on my booty way more now than I ever did.

My husband was working for Comcast & getting about $15hr as a manager, he was very grumpy the last few months there. We were getting by barely. I was bringing home about $1,500 a month gross at the time with my business, that was in 09'. He got laid off in Feb 10' , 1 month shy of 10yrs & my business took off. I didn't do anything different, just prayed a whole lot more. More clients in the business, phone was ringing off the hook at times & I'm bringing home about $1,900 on a slow month (30 dogs groomed). He got unemployment which was more then he was getting from Comcast & most of his schooling for Automotive was paid for through the goverment go back to school money they were practicly giving out. Then through that he was able to get half his tools paid for too, the rest can be written off in taxes next yr. In May of 11' he got offered a job at PepBoys in Puyallup on RiverRd. He was Certified as a Emissions specialist so they hired him at $19hr. Then also in May he took his ASE tests. They are very hard tests, alot of mechanics can't pass them all. He did pass them all & not just barely, he shocked himself. Because he is now a ASE Master Tech, they are now paying him $22hr as of this coming paycheck. Highest paid tech in the shop now & even higher then what most of the mangers are making. Our prayers were answered & he found an awesome paying job. People are great to work with, most anyway. He can dream about work & its not a nightmare. So if you have a dream to be something, go back to school & fallow your dreams, it will pay off. It did for my husband.

OK so who was it that wanted a pig ???? Here's a garden pig that won't destroy yer garden but can actually contain some of it. Do ya think I should leave it or paint it pink and any ideas of a price? Help me out here.

That's awesome Shannon! Congrats on his new job and your successful business! I went to school after four years as a vet assist to get my license because they told me I would make more money, I thought it was my dream job and I would do it forever, but reality is your body can only take so much and between the Navy and veterinary practice, my body just can't take the punishment. I will be 48 in 12 days, the job market especially here in WA is still pretty slow and especially on this side of the state. If I even had a clue of what I wanted to do again I might be able to go back to the VA and get my college paid for, I already paid for one degree, just not sure where my dreams went or what they would be anymore. So glad things are going well for you! thanks for the inspiration!!!
