Nothing much happening here today. DH took the kids to the park for a while, but they came home about the time I got started on a project that I can't do with kids around (cleaning stuff out of the attic). DH would like to go to the big 4th event down at South Lake Union, but I think it's just going to be too chaotic. We might (or might not) go to the fireworks show in Kenmore tonight. I suspect that it's going to be too late at night for the kids though. If I were home in IA, there would be other things going on, but here, we don't know anyone well enough. So, it's just a nice summer day - although 70* hardly feels like summer to me.

We celebrated Independence Day yesterday with family and friends, so today we are just hanging out doing some chore around the house, but mainly taking it easy. 16 yo DS is running around with friends waiting to go to a fireworks display tonight. DH and I are going to enjoy some alone time and watch the Sounders game. Gonna try to go to bed around 10-10:30 but not sure that's gonna happen with fireworks going off. May have to sleep with the TV or something. I got work tomorrow! Gotta sleep! Lol!

Got the new coop painted, the new shed painted, got all of my irises planted, did some weeding, wormed the Sussex, moved my Sumatra babies to the brooder and now I'm getting ready to go to town.

I need to get pop, water, punch & tablecloths for the baby shower next weekend. :\\

I remember the days of the hot tub. Stupid thing sits out there unused because it needs a heater. DH stole the tax refund when it came in the mail then claims he has no money to buy a new heater? Give me a break! Does he really think I am so stupid I don't know he has it? Feel like writing a check out of his check book for a new heater. No one checks the signature! Have to do everything myself!

Ari we been here for a few years and its hard to find things to do for small kids. Greenlake has a mini wading pool they run in the summer. The kids went yesterday and played for a good bit. I think it is the northern side that it is on. There is a park there too for smaller kids. The Seattle Zoo is a fave with the kids too. It is kind of late for the kids to go downtown and watch fireworks. The one in Kenmore might be better and less traffic. I dont feel like dealing with traffic coming back from downtown (I live near the Northgate mall, just south in the MapleLeaf area). We were playing in the waterhose earlier til their lips started turning blue from the cold lol. They had enough after about 10 minutes. Each neighborhood has its own little hidden stuff to do I have found out. We have a few friends with smaller kids too scattered around here and there.

Traffic leaving the coast (here) and heading N&E is horrendous right now!
I am glad we live where everyone wants to be on vacation....I am glad they are all gone now too!!

I am smoking salmon & a quart of small oysters on the smoker grill to take to T's tomorrow.
Have to stop at Denniselk's and pick up some birds too.

We have worked all day today at something..laundry, hanging the laundry out, folding, vacuuming, beat the throw rugs, cleaned poop boards, fed & watered 2 X...
Finished the duplex coop but still need to paint it.
That will have to waite a day or two.

We are getting great rewards from the garden, cucumbers, lettuce, radishes, zuchinni, garlic, scallions, onions.
I planted a new bed of Victorian butterhead, and Merlot lettuce, and a bed of arugula.
Pretty soon I pull up the garlic, braid it & hang it & can use that big long bed for something.
I am transferring the 3 week old meaties to a feild coop in a day or so..they are growing fast & need more forage.
Then the rock babies will go in the big brooder.
No sign of Boldogkennel picking up her chicks today ..

so I guess they stay here another 2 days.

Your right that wading pool is at the northend of Greenlake. My mom and sister and I use to walk to greenlake and my dad would meet us there after work for a picnic dinner. I was FOUR years old.

. Had to move because I-5 took our house .

One of my RIR (gracie) has decided to go broody

she is 2 1/2 yrs. old and has NEVER done this before. Yesterday she was sitting on a wooden egg all day so I took it from under her; she wasn't happen. So today she moved to another box and sat on another wooden egg. So I took ALL four wood eggs that were in the boxes

I am so going to the new Whinnie the Pooh movie on July 15th!!! Brings back so many memories growing up! Love that donkey too!
